Cheers, yeah I think this season is pretty much over for us with regards to the league, even if technically we could claw the 9 points back from the next 3 games against Celtic. Just been looking at the Campionship table and only 10 points separate 3rd position down to 16th position, that is mental. As I mentioned in another comment, those parachute payments are ridiculously unfair, it is pretty much getting rewarded for being relegated, teams should budget bearing in mind they might be relegated, not budget and say **** it, even if we get relegated we are still getting a wad of cash that the other teams in the Championship won't get.
When last were you in the Premier League? Maybe you did get them right enough then, you'll know better than me, I still think they are unfair though.
No, I am not meaning you should, but they are daft things, the reason I mentioned them was because when I said about the 10 points difference between 3rd and 16th I was going to use 1st place as an example but Burley have opened up a bit of a gap, partly due to parachute payments, I would have thought. Anyway, no worries.
We are QPR and we like the Grizzle. We've had to endure a multitude of coach sackings and turnovers, which would make 10 Downing Street look like a Prime Minister's haven; ownership by, in my opinion, odious, loathsome, self-important miscreants; dramas with player transfers in 2011 (while Alejandro is a fantastic person and a credit to his country and football, there were some issues with his transfer which was put down to poor paperwork or such). So grizzle away to your heart's content if you support the Rs. You've earned it!
We were last in the Premiership during the 2014/15 season, and before that from 2011 to 2013 for two seasons. The thing with parachute payments, is that used wisely, and if you can use them wisely, they basically just keep the big clubs at the top, and the little clubs unable to bridge the gap. We probably had to use most of that money to cover debt, and so couldn't invest it in moving the club forward. Although it may seem unfair, is it any more unfair than the Premier League system. Last year, Southampton finished 17th, and their prize money, calculated by the league position, TV deal and commercial income was £113.3 million, whereas Man City, who won the league, got £161.3 million. (https://www.manchesterworld.uk/spor...a-received-in-premier-league-tv-money-3721082). The whole system is built around keeping the top teams at the top, and the lower clubs unable to catch up. Dare I say, the American football draft system, where the lower teams get first pick the following season, does seem a good way to even the playing field. That said, I wouldn't want to see teams awarded for finishing bottom...but maybe the huge gap in financial rewards could be reduced, and the money more evenly spread across the clubs.
Brutal. But of course it’s The Times, they doubtless hate Glasgow Rangers like every other media outlet in the universe. Apparently. And there is no hint of paranoia in saying that. While peace, love and goodwill to all seem to be the theme for some of my friends on here, I have no hesitation in saying that I hope Beale crashes and burns big time and that Glasgow Rangers, as the vehicle for this lying ****, go with him. This thread should remain open to receive our joyous comments on every failure, cock up and embarrassment this disgusting combination suffer until we get bored of it.
To be honest, I had actually forgotten you had been in the Premier League so recently. Yeah, I suppose in all walks of life it is geared towards keeping the big boys at the top. I also like the idea of the draft system, but as you say, it means you are getting rewarded for failure and who is to say that a team wouldn't deliberately lose a couple of games at the end of the season so they can get a better pick in the draft?
Hahaha what are you on about The Times obviously hate Rangers? The article is written by, I assume, a QPR fan and in the first paragraph clearly states that the article will be full of bitterness and resentment, so I think that tells you that it is hardly going to be pro Rangers or I suppose that is just "paranoia" in your eyes?
An enjoyable read that cuts straight to the point. Didn't know he'd deleted his Twitter, not surprised. Highlights just how dubious he's been, and how he's sought to manipulate the situation to get what he wanted, and also try to still look like a loyal hero to QPR fans. Afraid you can't have both the glory of being loyal, and understanding of why you had to leave. As Sb said, Spot on. Sorry for Glasgow Rangers fans, but your club just got very unpopular with the majority of QPR fans.
Hey Didley. I've replaced him with a less repugnant, more trustworthy and reputable historical figure, the honorable Vlad, or as I like to call him, Mr. Impaler or Mr. Dracula SIR! At least when he says something, he sticks to his word. Unfortunately, Hitler, Stalin, Caligula, Pol Pot and Mata Hari all refused to be associated with the former gaffer, citing "detrimental to their reputation", "a step down in their integrity" and "does my beale look big in this" as reasons. Well maybe I'm exaggerating, ... Mata Hari had a great beale. If you're not impressed by Mr. Dracula SIR!, then I'll gladly change it again. I've got a figure in mind and I reckon he could do a better job.
How about Jimmy Saville and Gary Glitter split-screened? Can't be more controversial than Wartboat, surely?
You saying Hitler was a paedophile? Caligula, maybe. I think it might be a bit of a stretch to associate fat blasted with paedos. Mass murderers, traitors ... well?, but degenerates like JS and GG, wow Totally, you are cruuuel! Welcome to Sadists Anonymous.
