These are the sort of things that happen in the box 20 times a game at corners, is every bit of contact a foul? The VAR will only check the attacking possession phase that led to the penalty or goal.

The starting point will be limited to the immediate phase. The VAR may not go back to when the attacking team gained possession.

The VAR will consider the ability of the opposing defence to reset, and the momentum of the attack.

There was a VAR check on your penalty claim and there are rules in place that make the denial of the penalty within the laws of the game.

There are no rules in place that let's a referee totally ignore a blatant free kick.

So nothing like the penalty you were denied.

 

Taylor isn't even looking at the ball. He's too busy fouling Raskin.

 

If you watch the clip with your eyes open this time, Taylor is the only person in the box not looking at the direction the ball is coming from, he has no interest in the ball and only has eyes for Raskin and pushing and pulling at him.

Personally I don’t think its a foul by Taylor or Raskin, I don’t want to see these coming togethers as fouls either way, lots of players in such a small area then contact is inevitable but how can you give one and not give the other?
