After watching MOTD can someone please tell me as to why... 1. Alex Bruce was not sent off for Hull City.. Whelan was. 2. During the Utd game can't remember his name but went above knee high on Aaron Lennon. 3. And Diame (West Ham) who scored on Wednesday was not given a red for a terrible challenge the previous game. I think Whelan got himself sent off no complaints from me. But FF sake neither of his fouls we close to those I mentioned above.
Absolutely, I am disgusted by Webb and Atkinson. I started the thread on Howard Webb and commented under same thread on the oatcake. How Llorris did not get sent off is beyond me! Happy New Year
Debuchy's red card is debatable. For: 2 footed tackle Deterrance Only just missed Ridgewell (I think) as he jumped over his feet Against: Didn't actually hit a player (Crazy excuse)
Debouchy jumped with two feet so it was most definitely a red card. Also Krul should have sent off as well! Stoke97 do you play football ? In the 1970's you could get away that. But not now. Yesterday the following should have been sent off in my opinion A) Deboucy B) Krul C) Nolan D) Diame I was quite knackered last night with the weather I encountered driving home so this is the best I can come up with given only watching MOTD. You don't have to hit the player with your tackle to be sent off.
Yeah I know that, but what I was saying was that a Newcastle fan might use that as an excuse to get him off. And anyway, the red card was a deterrence so that he doesn't do it in the future.
Not seen all of the afore mentioned challenges, seen some and they were shocking. Something I've been wondering recently, and I heard mentioned on the Football Weekly podcast; Is Howard Webb actually a good referee? He's highly rated, but for me he is just as bad as the others, he just gets judges as better because he 'looks the part'. He always looks calm and confident, he's a former police officer, and I think this goes a long way towards his reputation, despite making some horrendous decisions.
