...in this case, I'm pleasantly surprised - especially as it's about Yorkshire folk. "All Creatures Great & Small". The original was superb ( Robert Hardy, Peter Davison et al (embarrssed I can't remember the actor who played James Herriot )). Discovered today a new series being aired on Channel 5. Extremely well done - script/story line follows the original very well, actors are excellent ( main & supporting and minor) plus the scenery is as ever superbly done. Thank goodness for modern technology and it's ability to make you feel as though you're still back home despite being 3000 miles away. Thoroughly recommend it.
Tried hard not to google it and it came to me just before I caved. Christopher Timothy. I've been meaning to watch it for a few days. Might download it tonight.
I liked the books when I was younger (and actually read books). I was little young the first time the tv series was aired but caught it when it was reshown some years later.
Aye. Don't think he did anything else after that ? Maybe in Scotland, but didn't get to see any Scottish stuff over here until internet streaming hit the shores. Cheers.
The new Porridge remake was ****e. The Tomorrow People wasn't bad, I enjoyed the original series more though. The remake of The Prisoner wasn't terrible either. The original is a proper classic.
Imdb suggests he's done near 1,000 episodes of Doctors (which I think may be Scottish) and a few years recently on Eastenders (128ish episodes). He's Welsh by the way. Never knew that.
Sad news - as you all already know, but Dame Diana Rigg, who's playing Mrs Pomfrey (Tricky Woo's owner) in the new "All Creatures Great & Small" series has passed away. RIP Miss Peel.
all the films they made were crap Rising Damp, On the Buses, Are you being served, Porridge etc etc. Other than the two Steptoe & Son films which weren't half bad.
