The only slightly good thing for us is that it's at home. If it was at Anfield, I would have practically written the fixture off. Not a draw either of us wanted in the slightest, though. That being said, I am hoping we field a strong side because a) the FA Cup has been good to us over the last 10 years and I'd like to see us win it for a 15th time. And b) Arteta's record in the cups since winning the 2020 FA Cup has been really bad. He can't keep throwing the cup competitions away to focus on the league/Europe. We've not won enough in recent years to be dismissing cup competitions like this. So unless we have a plethora of injuries, I expect us to go as strong as possible and will be very annoyed if we don't.
Simply because of the opponents think both teams will be close to as strong as possible safter this months ridiculous fixture list
Yeah, they wiped the floor with them. Chelsea were overrun in midfield. Their defenders couldn't deal with the chaos and tenacity of Nunez and Jota. I did feel Liverpool were fortunate with a few decisions that game, but based on how both teams performed over the 90 minutes, they more than deserved the 3 points. Chelsea looked well out of their depth.
We didn't recoup enough money for him, but I still maintain it was the right decision to let him go. He was the wrong character and personality for what we were trying to achieve.
I still think we mis-managed a potentially TOP Class midfielder. He's obviously a pain in the arse to manage - keeps falling out with managers. And that clearly hindered his progress. But I feel like his Season under Arteta soured what he had done under Emery. There were big games that Season where he was our BEST player. (in a Squad with Auba, Lacazette, Ozil etc) I just loved the competitive never stop running attitude he had. He was also technically decent. Anyways - Sarri could well be the right manager for him. He probably needs a disciplinarian type.
I mean, I didn't watch it, but sofascore don't have him down as having a great game. Bang average midfielder.
I would be pissed if I were Pochettino. Jackson and Sterling should have scored - both smiling after missing huge chances.
I'm starting to think Simeone is just the Argentine Sam Allardyce. Athleti play horrible football. Inter look good though.
Watching Liverpool in this final - It's a shame we don't get to play them again. They actually look pretty mediocre.
