Turns it down, then signs it when the news is out? Weird. The fans will still be massively pissed off with the owners, though. They have been for ages.
Would be interesting to see what changed his mind. He was asked this directly on Sky earlier today and he sidestepped the question. Maybe it was his genuine love for the club? Maybe he didn't want to see what he'd built up potentially go to waste? To be fair to him, though he doesn't seem like a nice bloke, he has done a very good job with Charlton all things considered. I'm surprised at how well he has done there, as he doesn't strike me as being particularly intelligent. He had a short-temper in his playing days, too.
He just got them promoted - ahead of Sunderland, which is quite an achievement. Can't believe that everyone - board, manager, fans - aren't happy to go forward together. The stats still show that any long term success, at any level, is based on continuity.
Are Birmingham actually trying to piss their fans off in the close season? You're groundsharing with Coventry and we've sacked that manager that you all like. Don't forget to renew your season ticket!
With Pochettino at the helm, Dele will come good. I'm not sure why he gets all of the stick he does of late. Between injuries and being worked out after his debut season, he's having a tough time of it. Still manages to produce important performances though. CL semi is a good example.
Because the demands and expectations set are now higher, both by supporters and team-mates. A good prior season does not give you licence to be meh the next. Kane has had a poor season by his self-set high standards, but he still managed to score 17 PL goals in an injury-blighted campaign.
He did come good. In his first 2 seasons. He's been coasting since then. I'm willing to cut him some slack as the overall quality of the side has declined over the past 2 seasons and the burden on the front 4 to create and score goals has increased to dangerously unrealistic levels, but another season like the past one and he's on thin ice, for me. What I'm not sure about is why people slam Eriksen over him. The Dane is in a different league at the moment.
Easy, the dane is more likely to leave than alli. It happens with all clubs really. once a player looks like hes going (not of the clubs choice), it is far easier to criticize. Tbf to alli he has his excuses (stop start due to injuries) and he has been criticised but of thw two eriksen has taken far more stick
Eriksen was much better than Alli last season too. 16/17 it was much, much harder to separate the two. Also weirdly enough if you listen to many Spurs fans they'll tell you that this was Eriksen's worst season for us. I'd say that's a huge exaggeration but it certainly wasn't his best by any means.
I think that a lot of our players suffered due to our midfield mess and the World Cup hangover. Eriksen, Alli and Moura all played in what I'd consider roles that don't get the best out of them far too frequently, for example. The players are receiving criticism that probably should be directed elsewhere, for me.
There's been an arrest for manslaughter in the death of Emiliano Sala: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-48694561 No speculation? They'll be lucky. Someone will have tracked it down within the hour.
Of course, it's merely a coincidence that Willie McKay has recently been looking to buy property in Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belarus, Bhutan, Cameroon, China, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Ethiopia, Georgia, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Madagascar, Mongolia, Namibia, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, UAE, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Venezuela or Yemen
They both deserve criticism for letting their levels drop. if someone is your most decorated player..the magician etc then the expectency is much higher on him and rightly so.
hes not getting criticised because hes leaving hes getting/got critisiced because he let his head turn and it affected his form and therefore affected Spurs.
My first thoughts when I saw this were much the same - Almost unheard for a league 2 match to be televised on the opening weekend - until now
