When is City going to get the judgement from The Premier League? Or are they in the process of acquiring all controlling rights of the PL?
Personally, I think the PL have been quite shrewd in setting the precedent with 'lowly' Everton. The facts were clear, the financial error was easily explained as being due to accounting errors relating to interest payments on loans secured in order to build their new stadium, interest rates fluctuated wildly in the last 12 months and they went over their stated budget - that and some creative accounting in relation to transfers and wages relating to two players. Having set that precedent the PL have a firm groundwork on which to progress with more contentious breaches of financial rules with regard to Chelsea and City - but the precedent has been set. had the PL gone about it the other way round, and targeted City or the Chavs first - and lost - they would be in trouble. I think we can look forward to many tortured months for City and the Chavs as their 'creative accounting' is put under the public spotlight. About ****ing time too.
I agree! Logic dictates that there is absolutely no way for the league to somehow dish out some useless fkin fine to City and Chelsea. That precedent is now firmly set that there needs to be a material point deduction. Or if it is proven that they have egregiously doped the system, relegation should be in order.
City have a very smart legal team that could tie the League up for years (they have done it before), not sure about Chelsea but collaboration may help them.
IF City are punished, the fun starts when all the clubs below them start suing them for loss of PL prize money, loss of revenues from entry to CL, EL and anything else they can think of. Years of fun ahead.
I really don’t think it would come down to who has the best lawyers. Besides, what does the term “smart legal team” mean? If they have a so-called smart legal team, anyone else in the top flight can also get a so-called smart legal team.
I mean they will tie the case up in loops for years, they have done it before and won on a technicallity (time ran out).
I think that fiasco has shaped the PL's thinking this time around, there is no way they would instigate proceedings only to be humiliated once again. I'm sure their case will be more robust this time around, the Everton case only strengthens their hand.
I can't see any of this meaning anything. As I've posted elsewhere, whatever's been imposed on Everton will be undone on appeal. It'll end up being a fine and nothing more, they'll get given most if not all of the 10 points back.
There are not many cases of that though. Where has an appeal court undo points penalty? If an appeal court decides to go that route, it will greatly undercut having any governance to begin with and I don’t think that’s what the court wants to represent. I believe the point deduction stays.
Time will tell, but this isn't a case of misinterpretation or misunderstanding of the rules, this is a clearcut and deliberate breach, simple as that - the same as the cost-cap in F1. If Everton can lose points for a £19m overspend, just imagine what the penalties might be for City and Chelsea where their financial overspend is estimated to be £100m plus.
Looks like Haaland has suffered yet another injury. He is a big unit and bulk like that causes a lot of stress on joints and ligaments, particularly for a young player. Once these niggling injuries start, they have a tendency to return, so it will be interesting to see how City do for goals without him, not that we're likely to take advantage by winning a few games in his absence.......
He will struggle to play the game at the top for 15 years, given the way he uses his body. Very top heavy.
How good is Mainoo guys and do you see him starting at the weekend ? My boss - says he is amazing I think Sunday will be very tight - it’s a derby in every way imho form goes out the window If I were ETH - would be saying this is almost a free hit Go out there and play for the shirt
