The club should be grateful to Robinson for his PR work ever since the CEO was gagged. Also for the fact that he didn't walk out of those job much earlier, when it was clear to us that Roland saw him as a useful idiot. Every transfer window was the same, yet it seems the scales have only just dropped from Robinson's eyes. It's a pity Robinson will be concentrating on his new job, otherwise he might have a thing or two to say about Roland.
Who is remaining at the Club to appoint a Caretaker Manager?..... Muzza hasn't been seem in weeks!... apparently. Perhaps the training ground tea lady has authority?
It's official now, Bowyer to take over , Jacko as assistant. Murray made a statement from somewhere-or-other about this being an important few weeks, so presumably no takeover expected for at least a few weeks. WTF is going on at our club?
On a personal level, good luck to Robinson in his future career. Not the best of the 8, nor the worst.
I don’t understand the euphoric reaction to Bowyer/JJ on Wally Life. They’ve got 10 games in charge ?
New manager bounce or two inexperienced pros viewing a 3-0 hammering on Saturday. I know what I'm going for.
I respect SuperC's tribute to all his hard work, but for me his public persona was tarnished by his habit of saying things he probably didn't believe. His praise of the Belgians, in particular was unnecessary. So I'm relieved he's gone. However I read his leaving message to the fans and to be fair it seems genuinely affectionate and heartfelt.
I don't see any reason for great celebration - either of Robinson leaving or Bowyer & Jackson caretaking until the end of the season (or the end of Duchatelet, whichever comes sooner). I am pleased that Gobbo has gone as I was sick and tired of listening to his patronising crap. But the wider situation means no jumping for joy. And I do hope Lee Bowyer gets a dead cat bounce out of the Charlton first team, however if I was a betting man I would not put money on it. A win against Plymouth would be great, cheer everybody up at least. But if the visitors play anywhere near their best game I fear we will be badly overrun. Good luck to LB and JJ anyway
I'll also agree with SuperC's tribute, but FHB is right, he also worked hard to irritate the fans when a wiser head would have concentrated on the team. Good luck Robbo in your next adventure - and a Word of advice. When the football world advise you not to take a job, try listening
Robinson is going to run in to another load of protests. A wow appointment, yeah "Wow, wtf have we appointed?" will be the response by the Oxford fans.
Unlike with Duchatelet, Meire & Murray I don’t think Charlton fans will bear any malice towards Robinson now he has gone. It was a short unsuccessful 18 month chapter in our long history. He was always on a hiding to nothing and our fans were good to him right up until last Saturday, by which time his obvious limitations had started to grate.
Very much this. You can only ask anyone to do their best. I am sure Robinson did that. There were circumstances (or maybe better a toxic owner) that would have made life hard for a great manager. Robinson isn't one, but he gave it his best shot. It's all window dressing as far as I'm concerned as what we need is a new owner to put in a manager, and to prepare for next season and until then we are going nowhere, but we were going down the table under Robinson. We may get some exciting football again under Bowyer - as he is utterly untried I can't see much improvement, but the stagnation under Robinson had become unbearable. Maybe the new manager effect might get us a couple of wins. It'll be fun saturday if Bowyer sets us up as 4-2-3-1.
I bearded malice towards him before he arrived ...nothings changed ...bring on th3 malice when we play Oxford next season
Just listened to Simon Jordan talk about our situation on Talksport.... he said that there will always be bad feeling between him and us but he sympathised with our current situation.... he also seems to be unenthused about Robinson
also said it may be years before we get back to where we would expect - championship. said it will take time for the club to be a club again, for the fans to come back... think he might be right. did say we have good potential though
