No, we have nothing but the money generated from Mike owning the last few coin-drop machines still in existence. When he said Rafa could have every penny, he meant it.
Basically West Ham will spend all of next seasons revenue this Summer. They borrow against guaranteed income so have a budget of nearer double ours for players. Spurs do the same then also borrow extra based on CL income, which then further extends their pot. It’s how all (bar one) clubs operate. All clubs already have arranged finance options, except us. We wait until the money is physically deposited. The PL pay in three instalments. The next one is 1st July, the others are paid 1st Sept, then 1st Feb. I say we are dragging heels but it’s not really true, as NUFC cannot physically sigh a player until July. Part of the joys of being under Ashley.
We've already signed a player. The other point is our manager hasn't signed and may decide to leave. That makes it tricky to sign players. I can debunk this dragging our heels stuff too though... https://www.premierleague.com/transfers/summer/2018 No fewer than 8 of the 20 PL clubs are yet to make a signing. Confirmation once again that our fans are a bunch of whining hissy fit merchants.
That 8 includes Tottenham, City and Chelsea. We lost three players the day the season ended so really are on -2 with our glamour signing of Dubravka.
First team squad wise... Arsenal are -2 Bournemouth are -1 Brighton are -2 Burnley are -2 Palace are -2 Everton are -1 Fulham are -1 You get the idea. Sorry but all evidence suggests this is just mass hysteria by a bunch of tarts masquerading as Newcastle fans.
Tis a fair point. Just wish we moved faster is all, we have previous of moving too slow and missing out. We’ll see by August.
With 1st team/squad experience we lost Massadio Haidara, Jesus Gamez and Curtis Good Frankly I'd argue we are better off given their wages to contribution ratio
True enough and if you wanted to spin in the clubs favour, it does appear all the effort is going into getting Mbemba, Saivet and Colback off the books too and probably has to, plus we need the Mitro situation resolving. Not enviable for the club, to be fair. Before the window began we all knew - including selling clubs - that we wanted at least one striker, at least one winger, at least one full back and at least one CM. At least GK is sorted (no idea what these Areola rumours are about). As it stands we're not going to see the numbers we'd all like. Either Gayle or Joselu, quite probably both, will be at the club next year.
Not sure it's spinning it in the club's favour - just good business, especially if Rafa has no intention of using the player (Mbemba) or simply not good enough (Colback) Fingers crossed it clears the books sufficiently for better quality signings to come in. Suspect we'll see more clear outs before incomings
Crikey your more deluded than a fanny fart. Get a grip with your high horse crap. The reality is rafa wont sign because he knows our owner is a lying cheating ****! Who has bullshitted his way through two relegations and still talks ****e about spending every penny. Sick of reading your half arse bullshit. We need players to just keep us above water. The rest dont. We got lucky this season but that luck runs out this season when we dont rebuild and rafa goes after 12 months.... unless we actually sign some players and rafa stays!
It’s not clear how you feel, are you having a pop at me? You choose to live in the world of ifs and maybes. This could happen, Rafa is probably doing this because of this. The reality is you have no idea why he hasn’t signed. You’ve decided we got lucky last season. I disagree I thought we performed really well and deserved our 10th place. We spend in line if not better than our competitors. We engage a top manager. We get the desired results. What do fans like you do? Piss and moan, despite getting all the things you demanded previously. It’s not enough. It’s never enough. We are dragging our heels, trying to force Rafa out, and all manner of other conspiracies. I work on what has happened and reality of what we have spent and done to get to this stage. Sure he could **** it all up like before because he hasn’t learnt. The owner isn’t changing and fans need to get behind whatever is there. At present we are in the up. You’d never know it reading these boards.
