I got the impression from the interview that he had a lot of options on the table and chose us for several good reasons, not because someone he knew said "Hey Kyril fancy chipping in at Sunderland?" Exciting times innit.
The eye's give it away, he looks absolutely focused, which can only be a good thing for us. And to think some people thought he would be dancing to Donald's tune.
You're wise not to say too much mate. As you know there's some horrendous things bave gone on and it's of no further benefit for people to know. It would just cause more bad feeling and create an air of suspicion around people remaining at the club. The new people need to feel they can trust everyone not to be feeding out information. It's just satisfying for those 'insiders' to know what they've previously leaked has helped bring Donald and Methven down. But, as you also know, the people who did the most damage to their aims were themselves. Time to look forward and wash our hands of them ... .... just my opinion.
I thought that it was initially him watching STiD that peeked his interest, then probably his people started to dig with regards to the state of the club and then found out it was for sale. He had said on yesterdays interview that he lovved the passion of the fans. Something though that does tickle me about STiD is that when (REAL) business men watched the part when SD brought Grigg and said whose buying the pizzas they must have thought (dear me (shaking head in hands and chuckling)).
The old " and any other duties at the discretion of the company" line at the bottom of their contracts
When was he doing the course at the uni in Leeds and how were we doing on the pitch at the time? Wonder if he popped up for a game incognito.
There's a very good friend of mine who I've mentioned on here, who posts occasionally on RTG. By a wonderful coincidence his son, who's now a London solicitor, was on that course with KLD. Another son is a good mate of one of our first team squad and is currently at Newcastle Uni. The players girlfriend is at Uni with my mates son which is how they met. The player was introduced to KLD just after Christmas but, so far, hasn't mentioned Leeds and my mates son, but will if he gets the chance. It's amazing how these things happen.
Sorry if I’ve missed this if already been posted and answered. But wonder if stadium, shirt and academy might be sponsored aswell to bring in extra revenue etc Can’t wait for the furrier now and for the 1st time my 2 daughters actually watched the game last night and asked for a season cards for when we’re allowed
It was beautiful. Very measured, concise and a clear plan. Withering assessment of Donald and Methven’s tenure leaving them and us under no illusions of his contempt for them. Just absolutely class mate. Absolutely chuffed with him.
If he does have an eye on running Marseille, I’d have no issue with that. Its a good model multiple club ownership of its done right. Look at the City lot, bunch of clubs. Red Bull. Its a good model and its a model that actually can reduce costs per club, can be used to develop players and can bring in fresh coaching ideas. I’d actually love to see the owners follow that path, for me it’s the future of the game. Strength in unison and that.
Aye, lived there most of my life. Infants, junior school, New Kyo lower school then Greencroft Upper.
I particularly like the "asset Stripping" comment and basically sticking a dagger straight into Donald, Methven and Sartoris hearts. I'm pleased he confirmed what the majority of supporters already knew and had seen first hand.
I escaped for about 30 yr, but came back . Shame its turned into such a **** hole . People mostly ok , but its being left to rot and decay
Congratulations Alan Reed, you must have started the longest running thread in the history of Not606. Back in July 2020, you would have never thought a thread could reach 2103 pages (to date and I bet there's more to come). I can't believe what is happening to my football club, people ask me where I'm from and always say Sunderland, or even "Wonderland", we play in red and white Not black and white, a proper team which is down on their luck, but not any more!
Lots of individual things mate, if any of the lads like Prehab want to talk about them that's up to them. They've generally put the club at risk and looked after themselves. I've decided to draw a line under it now and have to admit I've been encouraged to take that stance by a bigger boy.
