Hallelujah ! After all the frustrations these last few years we will finally get our Super Stamford Bridge! Yee Hah!
Phew , what a parlarva to build what is a no brainer for the Club, suburb and Council. Honestly some of these "planners" need to be put in a sack with some bricks and dropped off the Battersea Bridge. The Lord Mayor shows a good understanding of the difference between an asset and a liability.
I know right, I keep saying the same thing! The design is ****ing awful, aesthetically speaking anyway. Looks like a giant egg slicer!
Reminds me of a PC heatsink...but good news on the stadium for you lot. It should make you self sufficient.
I am sticking with egg slicer please log in to view this image Never mind, as long as it is nice on the inside.
Spurs new design look a million times better than ours on the outside at least. Never mind I will just console myself with the fact that we will actually have trophies at our stadium Looks like we will be sharing Wembley with the Spuds next season.
I just love the fact that it's completely different to the normal new stadium designs that are popping up now.
Can't it be different and still look good though? My opinion I guess, as long as the facilities inside our awesome, thats my main concern.
I'm in agreement with you. Looks different and imposing. The design was based on a medieval walled city and that comes through. We also probably had design limitations due to the site we're working with. Spurs have much more room to play with for instance. As grounds go, love Dortmunds. Will have to visit that some day.
Put me down as a liker as well. With my wife being an architect, I have learned that really good design usually polarises opinion. This one has it's likers and loathers in pretty equal numbers. I think if everyone likes a design ,chances are it's because it is a bit ordinary and there's little not to like. But if some hate it and some love it, it's coming from "outside the box". That's where most great ideas come from.
I have to say I quite like it. It's very different from your usual stadium design and certainly makes a statement. I think it makes us look like we are forward thinking and literally building for the future. We may all not realise it but Chelsea are part of a global shift in the way football, as a business, is run.
Yep, it looks like some grey concrete prison from Blade Runner or some other futuristic run down nightmare.
