I see that Saha has been released, anyone think he'd be worth a punt until the end of the season on a short term deal? French and Free, sounds like a candidate for us.
hes struggled with injurys with sunderland, he was looking really really good at everton and tottenham. id take him but only as a pay as you play deal. othewise its likely he will command a decent wage and may not ever play. we need a striker, im sure we will buy one in the summer but theres always the risk cisse might get injured soon in which case saha on a payy as you play would be perfect for a few months. its a win win situation
I'd agree with you, it's universally unpopular on here but not a bad shout at all. But there again, I didn't see the harm in the Kuqi deal at the time. What people have got to remember is, as long as it isn't financially silly for the club and a long-term liability – where is the harm in having more bodies in the squad, with valuable experience? May well never be called upon to play but it's another option if required and someone for the youth players to learn from. Saha scores goals and if we had to play him as a last resort he WOULD score. Grab you one goal that nabs three points and the outlay has been worth it. Had no idea he was a free agent and would definitely go for it...
I still remember the time where we signed Ronny Johnsen.... We did din't we? Memory failing me at 24 years old
