As we have apparently offered Mauricio Pellegrino a 3 year deal to be our next manager I thought I would risk life and limb and all the fates to put this up. A central defender from Argentina, who played 3 times for the national team, and who spent most of his career playing for Spanish teams. After retiring, he cut his managerial teeth by assisting Rafa Benitez at Liverpool, then moving to Inter. He then replaced Unai Emery at Valencia, before returning home to coach Estudiantes, and then Independiente. Last season he returned to Spain and got Alavés to the final of the Cópa del Rey for the first time ever.
Looking forward to having a manager in place so we can crack on for next season. If it is him then let's get right behind him.
Oh dear......at the risk of facing everyone's wroth I'm sorry but he would not have been my choice. I wasn't enamoured at his football style at City. Nor of the very few matches I have seen since then. Given the talent he previously had to work with was surprised he didn't make it at City. Just hope he has learned some valuable lessons. Time will tell and if it is confirmed...........then good luck to him and Saints. COYR's
Now then, young Beddy my lad. If this wasn't meant to be in blue, go to the corner of the room, pick up the dunce's cap and don't post again today! On another thread someone else confused the Spanish footballer Aaron Martin for the former Southampton player Aaron Martin so easy to make mistakes!
I think you're talking about Manuel Pellegrini Beddy. This a different person from a different country, with a different name!
