Yep, it really is. I get why, in a way, but they've got to offer more than the likes of Sulemana lately. We already lost (in my opinion) our best prospect in Doyle this season due to a perceived lack of pathway and opportunities. Although his reasoning was odd given his injury but still, infuriating to lose your best talent.
Interesting they are pushing the “early physical developer line” rather than “he’s really good” line.
Yeah fair enough. He will probably improve more at a Utd/City type club than here aswell, plus it gives him a bit more longevity if things don’t work out Can’t really blame him/his family if they do decide to move to one of the top teams
We’ve not exactly attempted to show that we’re willing to give the youth much of a chance this season. If we were that bothered about losing potentially top talent we’d have found them a bit more game time. We’ve had quite a few dead rubbers at the end of the season if nothing else.
This is quite interesting on Gomes (and I think you can read it for free). https://theathletic.com/5457480/202...rce=dailyemail&campaign=601983&userId=5781672
As sh*t as Brexit is, I must admit I like reading that English clubs are now effectively forced to scout talent from within the UK rather than abroad.
