http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/arti...ampton-u21s-0-0-bournemouth-u21s-2568167.aspx There are a few new names in that squad!
Had heard we were breaking from tradition and looking overseas after a 'below-par' crop of young English kids this time.
What makes people think they're not English? Lots of English with unusual names these days. Olufela Olomola for example is English.
Because the club is actively looking at foreign kids to supplement the poor youth intake. It's not about the names, more the known strategy for right now.
Plus, after the new training ground investments and a couple of prosperous years, we should be well place to pick up solid domestic intakes again. Probably just won't see it reflected for 2-3 more years.
Fair enough. It sounded like we were going the same route as others with loads of foreign youngsters from what was posted. Also didn't realise this was fact and not just something heard on the grapevine. It would be madness for an academy celebrated for bringing through English youngsters to change and end up the same as others. Always thought it gave us an edge. Also we get loads of money for them!
I was curious about Siph Mdlalosa so I googled him and he is very foreign indeed. He is from Portsmouth! He has quite outstanding hair...
Uefa have done a mini tribute to our academy players who have recently played in European competition. Could only find a penalty shoot out clip for twatbeard
Great to see, although I'm a bit worried at the thickness of the young goalkeeper's glasses! Hopefully some of them will be helping us defend our CL title in 7 or 8 years...
Three of those lads already capped by England. No doubt their suits will get better over the years. Like the lad at the end who admitted it was the first time he wore a suit. Couple of French lads signed and two right backs, an area the academy has struggled to fill.
No we don't, that other person was "made in Southampton" not French. You know it. I know it. Morgan knows it.
I hadn't even realsied we were in the Milk Cup - but apparently we beat Liverpool in the semis and are now in the final! http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33726489
