I'm waiting for someone to dig up Perez's scoring stats. His % of goals in 2019 must be made up of about 80% all against us. I'd like to think that's an exaggeration. Shudder.
Nah not me mate I'm not that young Remember clear as day the lad on the pitch though and Papa picking him up and carrying him back to the stands. Cracking night.
Thinking about it now, the atmosphere at the MK Dons semi final second leg in the last 10 mins when we knew we were going to Wembley was pretty special too.
All of em. But if I had to pick one, it has to be Shane’s goal at Anfield. I bombarded everyone I know with links to that on YouTube. The crowning moment was the DJ at Anfield playing “Hey Jude” - the chorus drowned out by us singing “Shane Long” - as we were leaving the ground.
For me the San Siro represents the pinnacle of our achievement over the decade. To have 7k fans there was immense. I think everyone viewed it as a 'once in a life time' event. Ok there have been more important games but th ohs may nver be re-lived.
If anyone has a spare 3 hours, Daints YouTube have released a top 100 goals if the decade. Some beauties in there.
I`ll never forget the Coventry game - maybe my best football memory along with Aberdeen beating Real Madrid in the ECWC Final. AberdeenSaint Junior joined his first ship in Soton the following day, and Mrs AberdeenSaint was there too. I`ll never forget the stadium announcer a few minutes before full time requesting the crowd to remain in their seats - fat chance. I`ll never be on that pitch again in my lifetime, and grabbing Danny Fox`s arse (in a manly way of course) as he was being passed over head to the tunnel was a moment in time where I felt genuinely that club, players and fans were at one. You know, I don't think we are that far off that spirit again. I`m serious.
One of the worst things was Jay Rod’s injury and numerous underwhelming ‘come-backs’. Much worse than a player jumping ship for the money. He deserved A much better career. Best moment of the decade was the day we signed Shane Long.
Enjoyed watching that; a lot of time, effort and production went into that from Saints Got to say, the Gabbiadini goal at Swansea for me is still biggest 'moment'
