16 in '66 just old but with a memory or two. John Peel school of musical tastes lots of good stuff out there
And to demonstrate the importance of a good producer... if you didn't like that, check out the original
Well I suppose nearly 79% is a mandate for a thread, may as well continue using this one, i'll edit the title and leave it to the mods if they decide to sticky it or not. Happy posting!....
If he doesn't then I certainly will. But perhaps I'll wait until the vote is in. As for Pat Metheny, I've a got a couple of albums. My favourite is Secret Story. Packed with great tracks, most of which are a little less frantic than your selection above [though that is 'live']. Here's an example called Antonia. It's a teasing track because there is a part where a soft jazz guitar comes in at 2m52s and sometimes you feel like you're waiting forever. But it is sooooo good: As far as XTC are concerned. I'll wait because there's dozens of tracks I'd select.
Bollix, I can't wait. But you're still not getting XTC. You're getting their best mates from the 1960's:
Should any of you be interested, I have a new music site called Alphabet Bands. I've not done anything for a few weeks but there is some lovely stuff on there. (apologies for the shameless self-promotion) Also, this is really floating my boat right now. BIG sounds from a young Manchester band called Bang Bang Romeo.
Very nice and the lead singer has got a set of lungs on her!...Just checked out their twitter and there is a clip of the video and Finchy from The Office is in it!...legend
XTC most underated band, well, ever. The Dukes are their best joke. I liked the way they even contributed to their own tribute LP under the name "Terry and the Lovemen". 'Dear God' is such a touchstone for me.
Oh yeah, she can really belt out a tune. Great for clearing out the cobwebs. I'm trying to find out when the full video will be released as it looks ridiculous and, as you say, features an absolute legend
That song is good, love the video looks good and I love the voice. That is Ralph Ineson who most of you will definitely know as the voiceover in the Dacia adverts, was also in Peaky Blinders.
