Nah I don't see me ever wanting a change to be honest. I appreciate I see it differently from most but from my point of view he takes the cups seriously and tries to play good football and that's the only two things I'm interested in really. Overall results don't bother me particularly whilst we're in a division I'd rather not play in. I can still debate the merits of them and performances obviously but I'm not arsed in the slightest if we spend all season in/near the bottom 3.
I am mate. Cup record good though, 0-4 and 0-8 in last two outings Am I right in thinking you're going too?
Yes mate, trying to remember the last time I saw us win at The Bridge. Think Peter Osgood might have been playing, not sure who for though..
I'm driving to Richmond and then tube from there. Should be in London a couple hours before ko so I'll give you a bell if you're about for a quick drink. Where abouts you sat? I'm in upper behind the goal I think.
Not sure, but it says a lot we cant think who we have beaten I thought did we play Sheff Utd twice after Jan?
I let the website pick my seat this time, so I'm row 2 lower tier I think. Which shows you can never trust technology imo. Will text or bell you when I get to Fulham Broadway, not sure what time that'll be though. Maybe catch you in some ropey Chav boozer before the game. Will put my scarf in my pocket this time.
I'm not for change either but would prefer a comfortable position in the prem, a cup win will do nicely to.
Think maybe Palace? Think Sheffield United was before Christmas as it was game that had 2k fans iirc.
I do think we need a bit of “optimistic realism”. Clearly we will not compete with the big money clubs and that seems to mean most of those in the top 10, compared to Saints’ finances. So, although I’d love to win the league/qualify for Europe, I’m relatively content with top end of the bottom (11-15) and a good cup run. But I really do like to be entertained and see the players up for every game.
Absolutely! Personally the “usual suspects”drive me nuts. Howe is a maybe but regardless, look where that certain PSG manager popped out from & the new CP Mgr looks to be coming good very quickly. There’s definitely good managers out there. Btw, I’m not Ralph out but 3 games will determine my view.
It was only a few weeks ago that I was heading into each game basically fearful of getting thrashed. Even the likes of West Ham and Everton scared me. Now, I genuinely believe we can compete against anyone, and pick up points in any match. So this is a big improvement. We are just a minor tweak or two away from being a bloody good side in my opinion.
LWWDLDDWLLLLLLDLLWLLWLLDLWWLLLDDDDLLWD 34 points from those 38 games (26 from 29 last season, 8 from 9 this season). You could argue that we're three games away from last season's slump kicking in (in the sense that games 1, 2 and 3 from those 38 games were two wins, and the loss to Man Utd from 2-0 up - but barely anything from the 35 games since then).
I really think that at the moment the club is heading in a great direction and couldn’t give a toss about the week to week results in the grand scheme. Only 2 defeats in 9 or one win in nine is the same stat. Ralph has given 3 years to the club now, he kept us up when we needed to, he got us to the top of the league and back down with a threadbare squad and we have recruited really really well. It certainly hasn’t been boring winning or losing. The culture around the club and the football philosophy is good with me. We are going to be fine this season, there’s a long way to go.
