Got to give Brighton credit. They’ve held their shape superbly, finished their chances in the main, and done the press well. But it’s still not over.
As mentioned after 15 minutes. Credit to Brighton. We haven’t been good (apart from 15 minutes in the first half) but they have been good.
Once again we’ve shown we cannot break down a team who defend well and with discipline and catch us on the break. I don’t know what it is - Ralph has made attacking changes, but the players don’t seem to have a clue how to get down the flanks and actually run at the defence. I’m not sure who my Saints MOTM would be as I’m unconvinced any of them have played well ......
It feels as if Brighton are fighting for their survival, whereas we are just going through the motions, waiting to pick up our pay at the end of the week.
Going down with barely a whimper. This team is showing no spirit whatsoever. Has there even been a yellow card? Make a challenge ffs. Honestly see us losing to Bournemouth next week. No Saints player has looked good today.
If a team hold their shape and the players don’t make runs to create space, then players on the ball cannot move it other than sideways to try and open the defence up. You sound like the guys who sit near me at St Mary’s with all the “lump it forward” cries ..... lump it forward and give it away? Brilliant ...... You should be criticising our players for not having the conviction and trying to get into the box instead of constantly looking for an opening ......
