All at the one course for my weekend flutter! Taunton: 13:33 - Kalzari (David Noonan rides for the David Pipe yard. 10/1 best price at time of writing) 14:08 - Bleue Away (Good Conditional Ben Godfrey on board for the Anthony Honeyball stable. 9/2 best price at time of writing) 14:43 - The Russian Doyen (Rex Dingle rides for the Jeremy Scott yard. 4/1 best price at time of writing) (e/w on each, and a speculative/'dreaming' e/w treble!) Best of luck today to all having a wager. Looking forward to the racing at Ascot in particular.
I think that was fine from Jonbon - a good pace on that ground and he went away nicely at the end. Not as visually impressive as Constitution Hill though.
Has heaps of ability, no doubt. Will definitely thrive over a longer trip. I am not sure he has that pace comparable to Constitution Hill or Dusart Dynamo for the supreme. Then again, how often does a staying type win it...
They really ought to have a crack at the Champion Hurdle with Tommy's Oscar - nothing to lose and what a day out they will have.
Was a useful effort considering the weight and ground apparently not as ideal as needed. Always felt Charlie had enough under him, he rode it nicely. One of the better jockeys around Britain at the moment?
I think the extreme ground last year obviously played to his strengths but he was 7lbs higher today and did it well - idled in front which allowed the others to hang on to him but ultimately a comfortable winner. If the Gold Cup comes up soft / heavy he could be bang there.
The Bosses Oscar looked like one of those hoses that was borderline of being of a decent class. Perhaps have some nice handicap pots in him etc. Seems to have gone right off the boil his last few runs. A plot in store or just lost the will for it.
