3.00 Newbury- Magical Memory- 7/2 Only raced three times this year impressive when look like he needed the run at York behind Tasleet! No idea what happened in the Diamond Jubilee and then left that run behind him lto at Haydock when winning easier than the distance suggested. He is better than this lot and anywhere near his group 2 winning form from last year he will be hard to beat!
Morning, team. 3 things while I’m on – (i) Madeline, what a lovely name for a filly by the way, did it nicely at Newbury yesterday. Would imagine that she’ll be stepped back into Group company now. (ii) The 16/1 forecast odds on The Twisler never materialised – I guess, on reflection, the switch to an upwardly mobile trainer, the huge ratings reduction and an ‘Ebor’ entry meant this probably wasn’t likely anyway. The Twisler easy to back this morn though and has been eased out to 7’s, whilst I write, by Bet365 (generally 5/1 or 11/2 though). He does though remain, to my eye, the most interesting runner out today. (iii) Did my long term regular readers see who won the 8.00 at Kilbeggan, last eve, at 14/1?!? I’d like to say I had the ‘family silver’ on but I didn’t. In fact I didn’t even know he was running until I saw the result! Frustrating as always knew he would pop up at a big price one day. Good luck, all.
Nice card for NH enthusiasts over at Market Rasen. In the listed hurdle a case could be made for just about every runner but I'll have a modest ew investment in Rossetti @ 22/1. Has risen markedly in the weights since joining Mulholland winning 5 times in 10 runs. Wasn't disgraced lto 5 lengths behind Ebony Express conceding 18 lbs. With the claimer on board he's 11lb better off with today's favourite. The time before that he also easily accounted for the well handicapped and solid good ground yardstick Court Minstrel. Drifting a bit in the betting but I think he may still have room for improvement and can out run those odds. Good luck all.
If you'd had the family silver on that you'd have been shaking like a ****tin dog at the last obstacle. Thankfully for the winner the 3rd T-boned the jolly giving Newsworthy a comfortable looking victory.
Henry tells me Mams horse is his best shot today. More Madness 4.50 Cartmel As you please as ever Stay Frosty
