Ive been following this the last few days. Though it is good news he is awake and nolonger in the 'Coma' unit. This time in rehab is very critical to what state Michael will be in the long term. But good to hear some actual official news on this as most stories on the subject have had to have been taken with a pinch of salt. 90% of them being malicious media lies
Gary Hartstein's thoughts on this announcement are less positive. He seems to think this is old news recycled into a press release, so that they could break the news that we won't be hearing anything else about Michael for a long, long while.
I would rather hear this now, and then hear nothing for a long while. At least the saga has been updated on a positive note. Keep pushing we need a few more laps Michael.
As someone with a relative who has "woken up" this is the start of a journey. All injuries r different but there will be some positives and some negatives. I don't believe Michael will ever be the same but I hope he finds happiness again and the glint in the eye remains too. Anything else will be a bonus.
Sadly it just doesn't tell us a whole lot about his current condition, which doesn't seem too promising once again. I'll be glad when we get some real positive news.
No... Just something like he's talking, eating, sitting up.... anything really that says he's on the mend.
If he has properly come round, he is going to be pretty damn weak and if he has been on a ventilator his voice will be damaged for a while. I am no expert but from experience I would not expect much for a long time. If any part of his brain to do with movement is damaged that will have a significant impact on coordination. Five months is a long coma, could be years yet and he may never be public facing again. I hope I am wrong but my expectations are not high. As for his family, they will need time to adjust to the new situation and I can fully understand their reluctance to speak out. Unlike the doctors they are hurting and will probably be in denial about his condition and long term prognosis still. Be patient, all you can be.
Oh, I am being patient... I'll just be glad when (if) we finally hear something truly positive. The recent update doesn't say anything neither negative nor positive... Just hoping we get some positive news one day.
In a way it is such rumours that everyone is trying to avoid without official statements saying what the actual truth is.
It's a positive rumour all over Twitter, just thought anybody not informed would want to know, can't harm really.
