I don't agree with the argument that experience hasn't worked so let's try any random with no experience. For one thing Di Canio and Poyet were inexperienced and Allardyce was and look at the difference there. For another thing we're in a very precarious position and it isn't the time to be gambling with our future. It's just a case of picking the right experienced manager. Easier said than done but it's a lot more likely than picking some genius novice young manager from total obscurity.
Peter Reid and Sam Allardyce done alright with experience. I think overall Bruce done well for us too.
If desperate punching in the dark was the way to go one of us on here might as well take the Job Seriously though, state of the club We need a manager with experience with working on a budget and proven to get 110% out of players. Such managers are available so see no need to blindly gamble when the club is fragile enough as it is.
SKP - Brilliant footballer for us, totally unproven as a manager and a massive gamble. Clough - WTF has he ever done?
I'd take Pardew but doubt he'd come. Personally I think the club is in such a financial mess that we will struggle to attract anyone with a proven record, which is why I think Pearson will take the job. Probably out of desperation to get back working again.
You'd take Pardew but scoff at the thought of the best realistic candidate Nigel Pearson. Prescription or illegal? Strong **** whatever you've taken
I'm not against this: my gut feeling says why not. I always trust my gut feeling. I'd still try everything for Marco Silva personally.
Hughton worked wonders with us and we were his first job as manager. It's a risk but I wouldn't necessarily write him off.
