Cursory analysis of the PL fixtures ...

1. Nearly every month of the season there are two consecutive games
where the opposition are teams who finished above us in 2020-11
or the Goons,

2. The last week in April / first week in May may well be "6 pointers"
for both sides.

No valid reason IMHO why the Toon game could not be played on saturday.

 

Surely better to have the game as late as possible to get our players back and refreshed. Ours are better than theirs.

 

They don't have very many current internationals either, if memory serves.
Also, TV money. That's the actual reason, of course.
