Are serious knee injuries in the Premier League really at 'epidemic' levels? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40679002
Mine are knacked after suffering for years with Saggybollockbang. I had the cartilage done in my right one over 20 years since. Doc told me to take up golf & swimming, no more running or football. Left his office & Mrs CB asked what he said. "All sorted, nothing to worry about". Played for over 10 more years & took up squash. Never played up again. Docs? What do they know?
Not long after stopping playing football, I was running home from the tube - like I used to do in those days - when I got a problem with my knee. Luckily, work had health insurance and within a few days I went straight into Parkside Hospital - which was like a hotel - I went in at 6.30 am and was eager to get home by about 11 am. Keyhole surgery and in a few weeks I was as good as new. It couldnt have been anything too serious!
I was waiting in a queue on Saturday and I got chatting to the bloke stood next to me. He actually got it in first and told me he'd just had 3 months off work. Quick as a flash I told him I'd also been off due to having torn my ACL in half, thinking he'd be in awe. I then asked him what had happened to him, he was about my age, mid 40's, I reckon. His reply? Heart attack. Clever bastard.
Torn your ACL in half? ...pah Tore mine in half too Plus tore a PCL in half Plus tore a Lateral ligament in half Plus hamstring tendon pulled of the bone at the knee and pinged back up my leg ...in one go I also tell everyone...over and over again!
