    7:45pm Tuesday 21st November

    Tele – BT Sport 2

    Officials – nope just VAR

    Group E
    P W D L F A GD Pts
    LFC 4 2 2 0 13 3 10 8
    Sevilla 4 2 1 1 8 8 0 7
    S Moscow 4 1 2 1 8 5 3 5
    Maribor 4 0 1 3 1 14 -13 1

    View from my chair

Well next up is away to Sevilla knowing a win puts us through to the KO stages of CL so earning more filthy lucre plus a ,very very remote , chance of more European glory. In the reverse fixture we ended up with a 2-2 draw whilst wasting a number of opportunities in particular Firms penalty miss.

The lineup will presumably depend on the fitness / energy levels of the squad. I expect to see Gomez back ar RB & Matip if fit. The midfield more difficult to call but my guess is Can to start and who knows beyond that though possible may spring a surprise & leave out Coutinho for a more solid / stolid MF 3 . The front 3 atm pick themselves even if Firm isn’t in the best of form he still suits our style more than the alternative CF’s.Hope we are cautious and just try and hit on the break as a draw will still leave our fate in our hands against Spartak.

    Prediction Sevilla 1 v 2 LFC

Highlights & goals from the reverse fixture

Sevilla are going to attack. Would take 2:2 draw now.

I think we can play on break.

I agree on the Gomez call. We may well try this 4222 formation on with gomez staying back

    Will ox play?

struggle to see the 4222 when the front 3 plus Couts are available as which 1 do you leave out.
my guess is play the normal but sit back & rely on the front 3 to pretty much do it on their own - well at least as much as we can sit back <laugh>

    yeah.... tough.

Ox played sort of right wing in the press in this mythical 4222.

Honestly i don't know which way it would go. the back 4 in theory pick themselves, karius is in even if he shouldn't be.

In theory Karius, Gomez and matip step into the side from today for taa, mingolet and klavan... that would be sort of logical.

Both teams have found a bit of form. They'll pose much more of a threat than Southampton and our soft underbelly of a defence will be tested. Let's hope Mo has his shooting boots on <ok>

It would be good to get into the knockouts with this game.

The smart thing to do would be to not lose this game and then win the next at home. Sevilla are no mugs as Klopp found out in the EL final.

with lovren and klavan as the cbs I think we might as well try score 3 to get the draw mate.

you never know we might get 4.

Don't lose and it's still in our own hands to finish top. Away v Sevilla is going to be toughest game of the group

    Utd 0-0 home
    Maribor 7-0 away
    Spurs 1-4 away
    Huddersfield 3-0 home
    Maribor 3-0 home
    West ham 4-1 away
    Southampton 3-0 home.

5 goals in 3 away games
    0 goals conceded at home.

Played bottom half teams since spurs debacle has put us all in good form but we can't assume Seville are not a step up on what West ham and Southampton served up v us.

True enough, Sevilla are a good side. Are they as good as the UEFA Cup winning side?.................probably not
