I know Eaves is good but can he carry us until the end of the season? Unless some players step up a gear these next few weeks could be difficult. Has Rodgers gone to allow us to get a mystery, unattached 'wunderkind'? or have the purse strings been so tightened that AJ won't get his iffy port from Roland at the end of the season for being the best, most loquacious, supporter requesting the return of the loggerheads?
Cummon yer blues!
Imagine Bolton decide they want Eaves back as cover for their first team, so we're unable to extend his loan. Who do we play up front? We're a Morgan injury away from Bradshaw/Doble up top then! I sincerely hope we have a new signing lined up, or that Turner's decided to play one up top for the rest of the season, otherwise we are in danger of being really stretched.
Rodgers should never have been given a contract in January, as I said at the time. A waste of money as it transpires.
Tom Eaves leaves
7 or 8 of these under contract for next season according to Stu Dunn. With Richards having had not the most enjoyable of seasons, Grandison and Taylor likely to be attracting at least interest if nothing more (despite JG's injury) etc I bet GT will be straight into the transfer market to avoid last year all over again.
As we feared last transfer window, until Eaves showed up the strikers that didn't set L2 on fire toiled a division higher. Kev Davies anyone? He'll "get into 'em" at least..
