City offered Palace a swop deal of Jay Simpson for Neil Danns. It was rejected. http://www.southlondon-today.co.uk/Sport.cfm?id=3641&headline=Palace reject Hull swap offer
I'd be disappointed if we did offer simpson as part of the deal, not gonna do his confidence any good if we're trying to ship him out already.
What's he worth to them? He's on loan for the season and then his contract expires (I'm sure they know we're not going to renew it). Puts his transfer value at a shade over 0 IMO.
can't see it, they've got him until the end of the season on loan. At which point his contract runs out and he becomes a free agent, he's as much there player as he is ours anyway as for the Simpson thing i hope it isn't true, it won't do his confidence any good. Also why would NP offer it when that would leave us with 2 recognised strikers (i know Stewart can play there). Doesn't make sense so hopefully complete BS
Hope this isn't true I think Simpsoon's a tidy player with good potential. If it is true this is surely going to set his heart and mind elsewhere..
I suppose there is that. He was interviewed after the bristol game and said he was settling in better after his partner and young kid had moved to the area. Maybe altered his opinion now he's dropped down the pecking order.
Way to boost Simpsons confidence is this is true. He's clearly a confidence player, he finally finds some form and then gets dropped, this would be a right blow to his ego poor lad.
further news it appears the player on offer was No9 caleb folan and not as south london press thought Jay Simpson typical newspaper cock up!!!
Thats more like the deal i would have offered would have been a very strange offer otherwise and i would have had to start agreeing with twf on management
Funny to think that Folan was playing for us in the Prem last year and now a struggling champ side doesn't want him
