Best Driver: Going to have to say Hamilton really. Controlled the race throughout the conditions and numerous SC's. Lots of other credible drives from others though. Worst Driver: Sorry, has to be Vettel. Made a move that could cost him the WDC. Best Rookie/New Driver: Stroll. Didn't see much of him but bagged a brace of points. Best Team: Tough one. Merc in the race,Hamilton win! Surprise Team: Worst Team: Sauber, car going backwards, Ericcson also seemingly going backwards most of the time.......... Best Overtake: Magnussed pulled of some decent moves. Most Surprising Result: Hamilton win! Least Surprising Result: Alonso retiring (at least no fault of Honda!) Funniest moment: Kmag "for f's sake" over the radio when toldof engine issue. Excuse of the week: Special Mention: Palmer. 6th place couldn't have come at Best post from the race thread: Race Rating: 6/10 Should have been better after Quali. The conditions could have made it a real classic.
Best Driver: Hamilton probably, although Sainz and Hulk deserve a shout. Worst Driver: Ericsson or Kvyat, at least everyone else who went out had excuses. Best Rookie/New Driver: Stroll, seems to like the wet, though Ocon continued his streak of finishes with another point scoring drive. Best Team: Mercedes 1-3 on a track they should've struggled on. Surprise Team: McLaren had decent pace. Worst Team: sauber, as usual. If it's true Ericsson gets the best gear, then it's what they deserve. Best Overtake: One of Magnusson's, nearly went into the wall twice in a matter of corners, but pulled them off. Most Surprising Result: Palmer 6th. Least Surprising Result: Alonso DNF Funniest moment: The computers inability to cope with Palmer's result. Excuse of the week:"Verstappen did it" Special Mention: Sainz, hulk, even Palmer gets a mention, although his points were all about retirements rather than a brilliant driving Best post from the race thread: Race Rating: 7.455/10, there were some good dices and battles going on whilst the track was still damp, became a procession afterwards though.
Best driver Has to go to the ultimate rain master. Lewis putting ten seconds between himself and the Red Bull although being on the older Inters. Lewis was epic in Q3 at Monza in the wet where the playing field was level but we see the boy from Hertfordshire putting a second between himself and Max and 2 sec plus to his teammate , truly is the best wet weather driver I have seen better than Senna's 1.4 sec demolish of Prost.

Aha! Cosi is a Hamelot!!! Best Driver: Sainz, Hamilton Worst Driver: Vettel, Verstappen, Raikkonen Best Rookie/New Driver: Vandoorn Best Team: Mercedes Surprise Team: Renault Worst Team: Ferraretired Best Overtake: Alonso at the start, That was massive Most Surprising Result: Red Bull, Everyone was saying Ferrari before the race but it was a breath of fresh air to see them back up there. Least Surprising Result: Hamiltons Luck Funniest moment: Kmag on the radio Excuse of the week: Ferrari straight on the blame of Verstappen Special Mention: Palmer I guess though saying he earned 6th like all 20 cars finished was cringing Best post from the race thread: Race Rating: 8/10
Not really...Hamilton was always faster in the wet then anybody this year. Even on the older wet tyres he was still gapping Danny who had pitted for new boots. Also the team was telling him to bunch up the field and not to pull out so bag a gap on Danny just in case of a safety car. Though Hamilton didnt like the idea he kept the distance around just over two seconds then the stretched it later on, but he still had lots of pace left. The team was looking at the bigger picture in case of the safety car.
You've found me out! OK, after having been called away last time, here is a more complete version: Best Driver: Hamilton (yes, still!). Worst Driver: Ericsson. Best Rookie/New Driver: Vandoorne. Best Team: Considering the result, Mercedes. Prior to the race, Red Bull were just pipping Ferrari. Surprise Team: Renault. Worst Team: Considering the result alone: it has to be Ferrari. Best Overtake: Magnusson's perfectly executed 'block pass'. Can't remember victim at the moment. Most Surprising Result: Ferrari rendered as spectators before Turn 3 … Least Surprising Result: Ferrari blaming Verstappen for their double disaster. Funniest moment: Ferrari blaming Verstappen for their double disaster. Excuse of the week: Ferrari blaming Verstappen for their double disaster. Special Mention: Verstappen. This time, his collision was not the result of his hot-headedness. Palmer: this will probably prove to be his best ever result in F1. I feel for him. He's not a top driver but neither is he the worst on the present grid*. And he's had some dreadful luck, preventing him getting race mileage and experience and keeping him out of the limelight, undeservedly. Race Rating: 7.37/10 *Ericsson, if you're asking…
nah, he got beaten to the WDC by Rosberg, that counts him out as none of the greats got beaten by a journeyman team-mate
I could be wrong, but is Vettel now blaming Kimi for the crash? I thought all along he was blaming Max? Maybe I got his latest statement all wrong. Vettel left Singapore without speaking to the media following the stewards' investigation having previously offered little insight into what happened. But speaking to Sky F1 in Sepang, Vettel offered his first full account of the incident. "I saw Max initially getting off the line quicker than me. I found the grip again focusing on the traction and squeezed him a bit to the left, which l think is completely normal for the guy on pole to do, to make it a bit less attractive for him into turn one," he explained. "I then got a hit from the side from Kimi which l didn't understand at all. From what l saw at the start and what l saw in the mirrors, l won't be [changing his approach]. It was just one of those things."
Max and RBR blamed the Ferrari's, Ferrari blamed Max, Kimi blamed Max and Vettel, I don't think Vettel blamed anyone. Personanlly, if I have to point the finger of blame at anyone for what was a racing incident, then it would be Kimi for moving right.
Thanks for your comment, Duncan; but Singapour was deliberate. Did you see the weather during that weekend?!
