Got to learn mate. Can`t go wandering off on his own. QPR could be dangerous territory, there`s committees for this sort of thing you know. Protocol and such.

Pretty sure the main part was over near Roker park mate huge building off behind Fulwell Road.
Could be wrong though as I thought the other places were just shops and offshoots.

possibly more than one. sure there was a luxdon back of rutland st (ish)
git big chimbly and all. remember taking stuff there for me grandma when I was a nipper.

edit: I`m talking rubbish. It was behind the willow pond but further up towards rutland st. between hylton rd and chester rd.

Morning lads. Went out for a pint or two to celebrate last night, log on this morning to find this ****e thread.

To explain briefly, while we were having our debate about McLean yesterday I saw that Coyle had denied sending him home, saying that he was excluded from the squad because of an injury (and will probably be injured around remembrance day for the rest of his career). I went down to the championship boards to see if the Wigan fans believed this or not. It turns out that there are no Wigan fans on this forum.

I noticed the QPR fans had a thread about wearing the poppy, and saw that this Swords Hoopster arsehole was spouting a load of ****e to one of his own who held very reasonable views on the subject (that means the same as mine). I fairly gently, in my opinion, put him right. Nothing vaguely derogatory said about QPR or anyone else other than the Swords character.

Just looked again this morning and it seems the tosser had only just returned to the QPR boards after the longest non-permanent ban in the history of the forum. He has been given a final warning and a further 2 week ban for his contributions to that thread, whilst their mods found nothing wrong with any of the other posts.

I am seriously pissed off that a fellow Mackem chose to start a thread on the QPR board apologising for my contribution. In real life I am not unfamiliar with the process of going back somewhere to apologise for my behaviour, but this would not have been an occasion that required that, and in any case NO ****er ever apologises for me.

Back to the other topic of this thread, there are now a bunch of detached houses on the old Luxdon laundry site, just opposite Sidecliffe Road. The land was apparently badly contaminated, and the gardens probably resemble a foam party every time it rains.

I might be dreaming this but wasn't there an advert that went something along the lines of "Luxdon and DeMille, together we're the clean team"?

Still feel sure of a dry cleaners located between Hylton Rd and Chester Rd, (behind the Chesters?).

May not have been Luxdon. The memory is a bit hazy as it was over 50 years ago but it`s stuck in me heed there was something there.

They spent a fortune scraping away the soil that was saturated with cleaning chemicals and rplacing the top soil for the new homes, yet the old houses who gardens backed onto the laundry got no compo or remedial action at all.
