Funnily enough we had a 'music night' the last time my son and daughter in law were around.

We were Bluetoothing YouTube clips through the B&O speaker and taking turns for 'happy' requests.

The choices were surprising and loads were from the past like Chuck Berry etc. We were really struggling to find modern songs that are just daft and carefree.

Im sure there are some, aren't there ....

Couple that get me singing along in my tone deaf but enthusiastic style.

I think the Kasabian song would be a good choice for us to run out to, good tune and uplifting lyrics. At least we've ditched the Prokofiev now.

Grandson is learning to play the ukulele at school so I put George Formby I’m leaning on a lamp post on you tube he was amazed and him as well as his younger brother and sister keep asking to put the funny man on the iPad, we often put old children’s songs on to entertain them in the same way we were entertained by them when we were growing up . Memories!

Alan Price is one of the few Geordies liked more in Sunderland than Newcastle then.
My first records were given to me by my when I was 5, and included Bing Crosby ( MacNamaras Band) and Paul Robeson 9Lindy Lou) dont here them to often these days. <laugh> .

That figures, he used to get to the match now and again in the 60's / 70's, and got into Annabels once or twice, he also married a Sunderland girl, although he met her in London circles. He was unpopular on Tyneside, not because of that :), but the claim he made about the royalties from the Animals first album. I knew that Bryan Ferry came from Washington, but never connected the Geordie Boy from there, thanks for the info.<ok>
As for Mackems being Geordies, <grr>.
