So, this moderator thing...

Hi all.

It won't have escaped your attention that i have had very little time to be around lately, or at least, to post lots and lots like i used to, for a variety of reasons, some of which are obvious, and some, well, best not to go into. i'm here when i can be, and read far more than i write. However, as a moderator, i feel i should give you all the opportunity to let me know if you feel that me not posting affects this board, and you would therefore like me to step down and let someone else have a go, or whether it's fine to have me hovering in the background, and let things carry on as they are. I know you all know i take this responsibility seriously, but if me not posting makes you feel uncomfortable about me modding the board, i'd rather give you to opportunity to say so. Dan is a safe pair of hands, but i wouldn't want any of you to think he is the only available pair of hands.

So, since i can seem to make up my own mind...do i step down or don't i?

I personally don't see that a mod has to be over-active in the posting stakes - as long as he/she is keeping an eye on things and pops in on a reasonably regular basis to oversee things. Much like good refs really, if they're not annoying you, they're doing a good job.

I vote stay....

 

Don' think we actually need a mod on this board 99% of the time. I reckon that most of us are able to deal with the odd WUM, you find they vanish when ignored.

Hope all is well H, you are missed. Hang on I say, you might have time on your hands one day.

 

For me whether you post or not as a mod is irrelevant, enough to know you guys n gals are there in the background casting an eye, moderating as said by others here is pretty rarely needed here anyway, stay on as a safe pair of hands would be my opinion.

Agree with BB and OFH, as long as you are keeping an eye on things, it's fine for me.
Stay in touch though and I will keep an eye out at away games...

 

that'd be great w_y, i'm at most of them these days, so i'll keep an eye out for you too . Will definitely be staying in touch ...and i'll be around as always, just not always visible

I am not sure you have enough time for us anymore Hornyette.
I am often getting people on here ganging up on me and you are nowhere to be seen.
You are to busy letting people drive you round the bend elsewhere.
I personally feel a bit let down by you.

 

Rebecca, I think comparing you to a good referee is a perfect fit, you are already missed by not spending as much time here as you used to, can you imagine how much more you would be missed if you stepped down?

The fact that you've asked the question speaks volumes! Stay! You are well loved by all, even STH when he's not playing the fool!

I think you should remain with us as a moderator. I need a girls firm hand from time to time or just the thought of that keeps me from being nasty.

Yes we miss your posts and I expect Dave misses his good night kiss sometimes but you are doing your moderator thing and it's good to have a lady on the forum (the only one perhaps?).

Thanks for what you do and I am sure if it is affecting your mod/life balance you would be first to say.

I agree with everyone else - you should only step down as a Mod if YOU feel you do not have the time or whatever to do what is occasionally needed. If you are hovering without writing that is all that is needed as you would see if a problem brewed.

You are the envy of all the other boards so unless a ridiculous transfer fee were paid you must stay
