With this match only a couple of days away we need a new thread. Well what can we say apart from, this is a big 3 points up for grab with Utd and spurs coming up after.....very big game indeed. Discuss....
If Cardiff lose to Everton tomorrow, then...as much as we really could do with beating Fulham, for confidence going into the final 10 games as much as to get some more points on the board...technically a draw would still move us back above Cardiff on GD. Obviously I'm desperate for us to win...but let's face it, Saints never do things the easy way.
And Saintmagic had just volunteered to do the thread. Where’s the pictures? Where’s the stats? Where’s the amusing anecdotes?
Whilst I understand your point, I think that the amount of "winnable" games left are running out. If we draw/lose this one it is very likely we lose the 2 after anyway (United and Spurs). I'm not sure who Cardiff have in the same time frame but if they have a winnable game we could find ourselves 4 or 5 points behind them which would be hard to make up. Get a win here and lose the next 2 then we (should) still be within touching distance of Cardiff
Absolute must win. Anything less than that is not good enough. I don't care what anyone says - we need to win.

We’ll beat Fulham, because Fulham are ****. Everton will lose to Cardiff though, because they are soft Toffees. We’ll get nothing at OT because @Libby is going, so that’s that one jinxed. We’ll beat Spurs because they aren’t all that really, and we’re due a win against them at SMS (Lawro logic). Everything will look better after the next three games.
If we lose this then we really do deserve to get relegated, imagine being the team that dropped 12 points to Cardiff and Fulham.
Why not give another U23's forward a bash, Marcus Barnes, Nathan Tella, Jonathan Afolabi, even Dan N'Lundulu would give 100% if asked.
I’m amazed Gallagher hasn’t been given longer. His five minute camels have looked fairly bright. I’ve said before, I rate Rh a lot, but he is making some strange decisions. This is one, Yoshida another. At least Gallagher can run and control a ball. With no Ings or Obafemi surely he should be given longer than 5 minutes, or why are we paying him?
Those camels can give you the hump. I reckon Sam would be OK against Fulham given the opportunity and some service.
I think both Gallagher & Sims should be given more of a chance. They can't be any worse than what's currently there - Elyounoussi still contributes **** all, and everyone knows our striking problems.
Good point, sims got a hat trick the other night for the u23’a right? For the Fulham game I’d play: Gunn Valery Bednarek Yoshida Bertrand Romeu PEH JWP Redmond Armstrong Gallagher Austin and sims to come off the bench at around 70mins.
Don't get me wrong we will go all out to win, and we absolutely really do need to win right now because who knows what the final 10 games will bring. But technically the bare minimum we need is to be level on points with Cardiff at the end of the season and maintain our superior GD. Not that I want it to come to that, but it may transpire that a draw is enough in the same way that we didn't ultimately need to beat Swansea last season even though it felt like we did at the time. Anyway, that's just the small print. Let's just win this! I hope this is the game that the collective home crowd realise that we are where we are, like it or lump it...but we can make a positive difference if we really get behind the team.
He scored 2 and setup one I think. That's probably exactly what I would be looking to do as well. Though I'd be tempted to play Targett at LB.
no negatives is just nonsense . this is the real world yeah here on not606 not some delusional post-off... cardiff beat us at our place then had 5 put past them at theirs courtesey Watford. Now there are 2 ways of looking at that but in both scenarios its bad!
I don't think what I've written on this thread could really be considered negative or doom. If anything it's the opposite because I've said that even though we all want to win and feel like we need to win, a draw might end up being enough (If Cardiff lose to Everton, which is far from a given in itself).
