We have struggled against Spurs since coming back up. A sensible prediction is a draw. It is likely Koeman will ditch the back three completely and revert to a back four. Gazzaniga will be looking to retain his place after a great performance against Palace. Stekelenburg has been in poor form and is doubtful, so I expect Gazzaniga to start. Romeu may be given another start. Davis may play on the right for this one, with Mane central (then again he might not!). Soares is likely to start, but isn't nailed on. Koeman may decide to play Yoshida in a game like this (I hope he plays Soares). Pelle is likely to start, despite having knee problems. Tadic is likely to start this one, having missed out last time out due to a change in system. Clasie and Ward-Prowse are pushing for a start over Romeu. Awful match thread; too complicated and too much going on. We need to keep things simple and information in the position it's meant to be. yes, I am joking
It didn't take me that long. I've not done one in a long time, so thought I'd do a proper one. I'm hoping we can get at least a draw. But our form and our head to head record with Spurs doesn't look great. Nor does the fact Spurs are unbeaten in their last 6 away from home.
Glad you added the jokey reference. Thought you were rehearsing for a starring role in "Christmas Carol" there for a minute. Reckon Godders is a shoo-in anyway, mate. I may be alone in this, but reckon Poch went when he saw writing appearing on walls, and he has proven to be very good (as we always knew, of course). I hope antagonism is limited on Saturday, and let's focus on supporting our team. Can't see us getting anything out of this, but then neither were Newcastle fans last weekend.
Here is a video of the last time we played Spurs. 25/04/2015 Southampton 2 Tottenham 2 Pelle 2 (Shane Long assist) Lamela, Chadli (Kane assist, Dier assist) Our team for that game was: Davis, Clyne, Fonte, Yoshida, Bertrand, Davis, Schneiderlin, Alderweireld, Ward-Prowse, Pelle, Mane http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32363003 http://www.whoscored.com/Matches/829839/Live/England-Premier-League-2014-2015-Southampton-Tottenham
Really can only see one result from this, we're struggling at both ends at the moment, Tottenham have had a good start, and we don't deal well with teams who press us Let's hope I'm wrong....the one saving grace is @Tintin didn't you do the threads of our great run Everton onwards around this time last year? Let's hope history repeats itself there
This will be interesting...Gazzaniga has to play, so no decision to be made...the question is can he play well in consecutive games. We will get an answer. Pelle back is good news, though we will have to wait to see if Ron starts him.
I was pretty sure Gazzaniga was nailed on after the Palace game. I'm glad he gets another chance, hopefully he plays well again.
The other thing worth noting from Tintin's stats is that Romeu and JWP both have 3 more games to avoid picking up a 5th yellow, before the cut off on the 31st. Victor has 2 to go.
