http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/southampton-boss-ronald-koeman-fears-7031650 Ronald mentions the R word No, Ron, no. Fans can panic, not managers.
Thak Thankfully you included a photo of each manager, as I'd forgotten who was who. Is good to see them in an action pose too. And quite a big photo too, of each of the legendary characters, which is good for my eyesight. As a result of such information, I feel I have some clarity over my result prediction. I think we'll lose, and hopefully I'll be proved wrong and we'll draw. Come on you S's.
Thak Thankfully you included a photo of each manager, as I'd forgotten who was who. Is good to see them in an action pose too - though I note that Poch looks like he wants it more: whatever 'it' is. If 'it' is a win, then things don't bode well. Thankfully, big photos show decent detail on what kind of skin each manager has, and is good for our eyesight. Same could be said for Gazza, written off by many here and now he is first choice, albeit until Frazer returns.
Appreciate your optimism Archers, but given our recent performances, we struggle to play for 90mins at a good level and if we fall behind with another 'soft' goal, l am struggling to believe we can get back into the match and more likely to concede more. Performance-wise, we a long way off the side so unlucky to draw with Spuds last season. Spuds, much as l hate to admit it, are an improved side from last season.
Great effort by Tintin on the match thread. Considering our recent form I'd be delighted with a solid performance and a draw. Most important is injecting some venom into attack and decent organisation when dealing with spurs quick transition play. I'll make a dreary 1-1 prediction. P.S. Kevin Friend is ****ing awful and its my sincere hope he inhales and chokes on his whistle within 40 seconds of play.
Ron came across as very down in the press conference. He fumbled with his fingers, his first answer was confused and he lacked his usual relaxed smile. He knows we are in the **** even if many on here are trying their best to deny it.
More realistic than depressed....knows we are falling back with the stragglers, but says how close the competition is. And lets not forget we are not yet half way through the season. Just shows how important it is to get points on the board early when you look at the bottom three. I'm still certain that, despite falling to lower than we might like, we will get enough points to finish midtable.
I always like the press conference extra it's so much more interesting that the first one. Good to hear that he kicks the players up the backside if they are not performing.
Maybe Alex Crook on ESPN is right, Saints may have brought in too many cut price copies and lost all of the leaders on the pitch. This game is crucial.
He always seems more relaxed with the printed press....perhaps he feels more able to relax and discuss things rather than trying to avoid negative or misleading soundbites.
But now he's playing for a move he seems to have improved somewhat. He does great in my FIFA game, but I suppose I'm a better man manager
Can I summarise? Ron says he is " a little bit worried ... we need a win ... if we don't start winning then we will be close to the teams in the R battle" If he wasn't at all worried, didn't think we needed a win and thought we could lose and still not enter the R battle then I would be concerned. (Your later post seems more positive anyway Fran) He seems down. If he looked happy and confident he'd get slated for not caring. Its just an act for the press. I'm assuming we're going to beat the Spuds as that means I can be happy, until we lose ... and we might win, so I'll be happy all the time. It seems the best approach to me. Oh and if we do lose I'll go out and get drunk so I don't care as much ... an if we win I'll go out and get drunk to celebrate
