And equally, why do our medical teams and/ or managers not prevent them from doing so?

It’s ****ing madness and even incompetent on their part(s).

I can understand why it was endemic under Conte, because Conte apparently though we only had sixteen players in the squad so ran them into the ground, but you'd hope that's the sort of thing that would've been shaken out of the player's heads by now

You mean the same medical team that allowed Jan to play on despite him not being able to walk straight and vomiting on the side of the pitch?

    Can't imagine why...

Far too often IMHO you get a "rob Peter to pay Paul"
effect that costs a club much more further down the road.

If the physios can detect the problem, then their
immediate answer always has to be "no" whatever
is actually at stake on-pitch. Player ego should not
    even come into it.

He, like quite a few others, has looked pretty jaded in recent weeks.

Without question has been one of the outstanding summer additions but I'm confident in Ben's ability to come in and do a decent job. Dare I say it we might benefit from a bit more defensive solidity in the run-in.

LB is a position we need to look at with some urgency in the summer, as is the other flank if Ange hasn't changed his mind about Spence (doesn't look like anything he's done at Genoa will help either).

We need better back up in both positions but don't need to break the bank imo. Upgrading Sessegnon shouldn't cost more than £2.50 after tax.

I’ve got little issues with Davies as a player despite him not really suiting the system, though at the moment no one seems to suit it. Though my bigger concern is that Davies has been neglected for the past two months and will now be playing his first minutes starting in a NLD. Ben being the pro he is will no doubt train have consistently trained hard but doesn’t matter how professional you are, lack of game time generally always produces rustiness. He’s gonna be thrown in the deep end, just hope he hasn’t forgotten how to swim.

Need competition for Porro and Udogie rather than back up.

Alfie Doughty is reportedly out of contract in the summer, so technically it would cost less than that (though I can't recall us being linked with him, weirdly)

Ben Davies or Dragusin in as LCB and put Micky as LB? His pace would make him more suitable to cover Udogie than Ben Davies imo.

It’s definitely an option if Ange can adapt to it with a deeper back line. Otherwise if we play the same way then the opposition will lick their lips at leaving a runner against Romero and Dragusin, neither are slow but neither are van de Ven either. Any speedy attacker would beat them in a foot race.

Exactly part of why I had concerns about the management of certain squad players, thrown in after 7-8 weeks of not kicking a ball and now has a calf injury to end his season after his first start back.

The amount of non-contact injuries we’ve had this season is beyond a joke. Training as well as squad management needs changing/ improving.

41 games all season and so many injuries.

    Why?

    Absolutely ridiculous.

No idea where we go from here. Royal at LB is an absolute no.

If Radu had more minutes in his legs, I'd play him at CB and Micky at LB, but he doesn't either.

As you say, it's been really disappointing squad management this season.
