No time for niceties. I objected to those who sang for Man City last tuesday. I don't like hate songs, either. Anyway, here's some thoughts on the last day of the season. And two songs, no less!!! Neither of them is mainstream. One a children's comic song, the other a hymn. I hope nbobody is upset by my treatment of either of the originals. All the best to all fellow participants - and especially to your good self, Spurf. Phew! Only just made this!

Old Mister Wilder’s got troubles of his own
He has a football team that’s lost its games at home
He’s tried and he’s tried to get the team to stay
But they’re goin’ down to the Championship, far, far away

Till finally they won it and came back up right soon

So now we play them Sunday , when we’ll say goodbye.
I think we have to win it or then if we lose we’ll cry!
But Son will hit the net - and then he’ll make a goal for Scarlett
And nobody will grudge a goal for Brennan, our young starlet!
But his team will cme back the very next year

Sheffield United, now in decline!
Big up-and-down team every time!
Now relegation, going back down –
Come next September, they’ll be around
