We don't know, correct. Ralph may well have been absolutely forced into what he did today. But we do know that it's becoming a recurring theme now, when it comes to odd FB selections.
Just look at the number of tattoos he has.And he is barely out of his nappies. This indicates that he has a screw loose somewhere. Suggests he spends more tiime in the studio than honing his footballing skills. Someone will point out that Messi has a plethora of tattoos. But acquired over time. Add to that, he does not look as stupid as Slattery.
It’s only illogical because we don’t know why he did it. And by the way, I’m offering loads of non-sarcastic discussion here tonight and one post in blue.[/QUOTE] No, it really isn't.
When asked Ralph has suggested the opposite: that JWP started over Valery (and Danso over Bertrand) for tactical reasons. I think we'd all understand if it was forced; I don't remember anyone complaining a few years ago when Koeman was forced to start JWP at right back once or twice for want of other options.
Football manager and police officer. The 2 jobs that everyone has an opinion on how it should be done with absolutely no experience in the role. I'm usually very critical of our managers, and I don't think Ralph is a bad manager, but I'm not convinced he's amazing either, but there is clearly a **** tonne going on behind the scenes from the top down. I'd love to know what's going on
No higher, I very much regret to say. I really do hope that in the next phase of 4/5 games some greater consistency is more apparent. The GD data is not getting better, just when I’d thought after Brighton/Sheffield we had started to stem the flow. Much as I enjoyed the match v Portsmouth and the overall performance, those of us watching it on the tv, were saying quite a few times, ‘got away with that, won’t in the PL though’ etc. Not sure what is going on behind the scenes but I’ve got a nagging doubt about the default on picking Vesty, at the exclusion of others and therefore creating confusion amongst those on the pitch? Today after Cedric’s pre-match injury especially. Still reckon he’ll sort it out but need to see some signs soon.
Good game. That’s the last time this season I suggest boof doesn’t start. He was excellent again and gave spurs plenty of trouble. Gunn screwed up, Loris screwed up, but then basically won the game for them after that with at least 3 good saves. C’est la vie. The weirdness continues but we looked a very good side for a lot of today. Never thiught we would win this so not unexpected.
Its pretty simple to me. If we dont play our full backs at full back* we aren't going to win many games. *the right way round
TBF he was playing JWP at RWB which is a position he has played before but I agree that Valery is probably more effective at least defensively in that position. I also don't like the fact that the midfield is less effective when JWP is not playing there.
“You have to have battles all the time. Teammates are looking for your position and you have to be better than them. “He is behind Cedric, but you never know. When he shows up again, he is physically very strong and maybe he gets the chance. He must really push himself to the highest level.” “I always want to give players a chance if they are training well, and he trained very well. He wanted to be in a duel and, at the moment, Yan is struggling a little bit, so he took the chance.”
Do you mean for the first goal? I thought that at first but I've since read that the shot was deflected, so that might explain his strange reaction to it.
I wasn’t one of them. We had mid season slumps with koeman but we didn’t go into the season hoping to avoid relegation.
When he shows up again, he is physically very strong and maybe he gets the chance. He must really push himself to the highest level. ----------------------------- And there we have it. Balls in Yan's court now, knuckle down so we can stop these crazy RB LB debates!
THe defending for their 2nd goal was awful ... why was Kane unmarked in the box? As for the Lloris mistake reminded me a bit of Boruc at Arsenal a few years ago (but funnier because we scored from it)
