Alright all, I'm making my first trip to St. James and I'm wondering what the best way is to get from the station to St. James' Park. Thanks for your help in advance and if anybody can tell me the best place for a pint with a 14 year old that would be brill.

    Cheers <ok>

Depends how much time you'll have. If you're short of time it won't cost all that much for a taxi.

Plenty of time and you can walk along Grainger Street to the Monument and then turn left and you'll end up at the ground. Be hard for you to get lost because there'll be thousands of B&W tops heading that way too.

Hard to get in anywhere for a pint on Matchday, with a 14 year old it'll make it harder. You'd probably be able to get into Shearers with a 14 yr old if you can get through the doors.

Follow the crowd of people in black and white. Failing that, walk towards subway and up the alleyway next to it and then follow the signposts to the ground. It is easy to find.

It is, I'm from Salford Manchester and have been a fan since I was a little kid. Bringing my 14 year old brother who is ManUre all the way through, thought I'd take him to a proper stadium with proper fans

There's a Wetherspoons directly across the road from the station.

Agent Bruce, will they let a 14 year old in? If not I'll go and have a look around the stadium

The two wetherspoons next to the station arent great, I'd recommend the Bodega, cross the road from central station, follow Pink Lane across Grainger street then walk up Westgate rd. for about 200m. Good pub, good beer.

When coming out the station, I usually go up Grainger street all the way up to the monument and then turn left onto Blackett street, then you just continue walking and you end up right on the Gallowgate. This way, I can easily pick up something to eat on the way and whatever other rubbish I can spend a bit cash on since Granger street and the general area around the monument is packed with shops and places to eat.

If you're in more of a rush, I suggest taking Grainger street but eventually turning left onto Newgate street where you'll pass "The Gate". Just when you pass the Co-op, you can turn left onto St Andrew's street which goes through China Town and you'll see the Stadium when coming through.

Both these routes will take you towards the Gallowgate end where the club shop is located.

    What stand are you in?

Just thought I'd ask in case you wanted an idea what certain parts of the stadium are like. <ok>

Bring some cans with you, get a kebab from Bigg Market Chippy and sit in Haymarket bus station like a tramp until five minutes before kick-off. <ok>
