Ok, so I'm just going to put my ideas up and people can change them, modify whatever they want as long as it is constructive and at the end we'll see if someone has got a team and formation that everyone likes: Home: 4-4-1-1 --------------Szczesny--------------- --Sagna--Samba---Vermaelen--Gibbs-- -Walcott--Fabregas--Wilshere--Nasri-- ------------------v.Persie------------ ---------------Benzema-------------- Subs: Fabianski, Koscielny, Djourou, Song, Ramsey, Arshavin, Chamakh Away: 4-2-3-1 ----------------Szczesny---------------- --Sagna--Samba--Koscielny--Vermaelen-- ------------Song----Wilshere------------ -Walcott---------Fabregas----------Nasri- -----------------v.Persie----------------- Subs: Fabianski, Djourou, Gibbs, Ramsey, Arshavin, Chamakh, Benzema I feel at home we need 2 players up front so that we have a plan B to pump balls into the box. If we are losing away, we can also revert to this. Away we seem to be better at breaking teams down because they attack more. Plus this line up will give us more stability at the back. I also feel that we should not have a #1 goalkeeper and should rotate Szczesny and Fabianski throughout the season as Fabianski was playing well before his injury, people just forgot because of Szczesny. Let me know what you think Drudeboy
At home this year that hasn't been a problem. Maybe for away games we could get someone instead of Song and play a 4-5-1 like: ----------------Szczesny---------------- --Sagna--Samba--Koscielny--Vermaelen-- --------------[holding player]------------ --Walcott---Fabregas---Wilshere---Nasri-- -----------------v.Persie-----------------
Yes it has. We have lost at home FOUR times. AT home you need a proper holding player because the defence will have to watch out for the sly counter. A class DM kills counters in an instant. Song has become very lazy and gives stupid free kicks after stupid free kicks. If we can get a proper DM then we can push even more players forward at home when a team comes for a point. If not a world class DM then we need one that is going to compete with Song so he can up his game.
Do we have to have Samba? Don't get me wrong, he's a beast and I'd like us to sign him to help us deal with the likes of Stoke and Blackburn, and teams with little pace, but DJ and Kos have been ****ing immense in every game they've played together against a big team.
I agree. Most of the games we lost we completely dominated but lost or drew due to a quick counter or a sloppy free kick given away because they countered quickly.
Fabregas is leaving. Live by the stadium and have some good chats. All the promotional bumpf about to come out has just Walcott & Wilshire on it. Oxley-Chamberlain is on his way & Brahimi
