No article. No details. No 'all the best'. Nothing but the line on twitter: The Club has parted company with the non-executive Chairman, Steve Hamer, with immediate effect.
Wonder who he upset, or is a takeover happening and the new owners don't want him. Not the usual Bristol Rovers style, have spoken to Steve Hamer many times and always found him pleasant and helpful. Best wishes for the future Steve
Nick Day has said "good riddance" to this news on twitter. He is refusing to say why at the moment but I get the feeling Hamer has upset some.
If you google Bristol Rovers there is an article on there by Bristol live about the sacking of Steve Hamer
If he's actually been sacked, then he's probably done something wrong. I doubt sacking the chairman is streamlining because they'll need another one.
I will be surprised if we get another chairman. Our CEO can do that job for now. I suspect the 3 groups looking to take over the club will have their own person in mind for the role. Reading another forum, a few people who claim to be in the know, have suggested Hamer liked to say too much to fans giving a few confidential stuff away.
