Sturridge to get the most out of Benteke?

I think you'll have noticed that I've been saying Coutinho is a number 8 for the past 2 years, whereas you keep banging on about him being a number 10.

 

Who knows... for me it is ALL about fitness and continued fitness... he could be way off the pace having worked on his won and not had a similar preseason.. we just don;t know.

I'm sure any intelligent forward could play off benteke.. he is simply a monster.

Yep - that was the issue last season. Banking on an injury prone striker.

Sturridge has his work cut out but the lad is quality and can only enhance our attack further.

 

i'd hope so... we need to put pressure on every side from 8th-20th in the table and the mosre goal threat the better there.

I think 4th will still be 70-73points this year and right now we are well on for challenging for it.

FOra cup we need to eventually not only beat those lesser sides who give a right go but eventually need to actually beat the first decent side we come up against.

Here's hoping city and cheslea are distracted from cups this year.

 

This has been a key feature all pre-season and the past 3 games. Our attack has been working very hard and forcing errors.

I reckon a lot of our chances have come from forcing errors than actual build up play.

 

All goals come from some level of error.

turn overs in the right area create a lot more space that trying to draw teams out who may not be interested in coming out.

 

Of course, but we have been pressing and forcing simple errors i.e. slopping passing and then pouncing on them.

We need to be more ruthless and clinical though.

Really want to see Sturridge - Benteke - Firmino. That has pace, power and skill. More importantly, Benteke will have two players will get close to him, and get into the box.

Benteke is proving he is a multi-dimensional player, not just a 'big-man'... that rep wasn't helped by how Villa used him and asked him to play

we need to see this busy attacking player rodgers has spouted guff about. I like a busy player but so far he looks stunned by the pace of the game. we will have to see.

Benteke is an absolute steal 32.5mil for a real player there. and the nice thing is the everotn fans can whine about it cos they spenked 29 on lukaku who's similar.

 

Every time Coutinho starts as a number 10 he ends up getting shifted to the left and plays amazing out there. For me he has to be on the left, the evidence is clear. Yeah he can drift in and be more central, but his starting position has to be on the left. Him making a fool out of the opposition RB and cutting in is becoming his trademark - He's a very good number 10, but a great player when on the left.

I like the look of the OP team on paper, but would we be too exposed? I think on paper it looks amazing, but in reality we'd ship too many goals. The best thing is we have lots of attacking options, with plenty of variation.
