Agree with the OP! We will face a battle to keep him in my opinion. Probably no more in demand player around than Messi or Ronaldo, the fact we have not progressed enough or got champs league will help other clubs you would feel. Certainly they are more likely to put an offer in. Suarez is probably the best player around who is not at either Barca or Real, not saying he is going but there are a lot of clubs with more money than us probably only too willing to take Suarez off our hands.
Suarez can do things not many other players can do, and he's not a pushover or someone who plays for money either. He has real fire in his belly and just wants to play every minute of every game. He'll be in demand - more so than anyone else this summer, especially 'third best in the world Bale'. He may not be the best player around who doesn't play for Real or Barca, but he's certainly the most uniquely talented of them. Not as fast as Bale, not as clinical as RVP, not as **** average or overated as Fellaini, but he's ****ing awesome at what he does.
By who? Falcao may be looked at by the big clubs, Cavani and Neymar will certainly be discussed, who do you think may come in for Suares?
Look, I'll be delighted if no one goes for him. Means we keep him another year. But if we claim no one will look at him, we'll be called the horribly overused term 'deluded'. He's a quality player and they always take the interest of others. By who? Juventus looked at him previously, same with Inter, Bayern are sniffing around, City may take a look if they're rebuffed on Cavani. Neymar is going nowhere this year. Falcao will be off to Chelsea.
City may look, it`s what they do, try to buy other teams top players even if they will not fit in the team or displace the players they already have. I think you need not worry unless Suares himself want`s a move.
Sure I want Suarez to stay. However, if any club knocked on the door with a higher than Torres offer for him then the management must look at the situation seriously. Suarez has a value to LFC and that value is composed of many factors but the 2 biggest elements are his commercial value AND his replacement cost.. If the club management have not already developed an outline contingency plan then quite frankly they need their arses kicking. When he arrived, I cautioned that we as supporters should not give our hearts away as easilly as we did with Torrres. I love watching the man play and I'm proud that he is wearing a red shirt. BUT he is just a player and has to be considered in the same way that we view our cars. THEY ALL ARE REPLACEABLE.
Whilst I would really hate to lose Suarez, I agree. He really is an awesome player; more than that he has such a wonderful battling, winning, and determined mentality. I believe this is why Fergie detests him so much; he knows more than anyone what one players attitude can bring to the rest of a squad- Cantona anyone? With that said 40-50 mil added to 20mil of a realistic transfer window budget and we could bring in 4 or 5 decent purchases. Ideally we would keep Suarez and add the required quality to compliment him!
i think personally we have another season out of Suarez at least, hopefully more. he knows we are a work in progress and think he is happy to have Sturridge playing up top with him, and considering he was brought in Jan and has made quite an impact think Suarez will want to see what that develops like before deciding on a move away, Coutinho looks like a good addition as well, although obviously to early to say, but looks promising. we all say Suarez is not motivated by money or CL football, yet worried he will leave for those reasons, he has said he is happy here so is his family, and just enjoying playing his football, not sure what else he can say to convince people. maybe he needs YNWA tattooed on his knuckles lol, sort it out Agger
Would he get as much love anywhere else? Especially in the PL? I think he considers this, unlike Torres. Ask Torres where he'd rather be.
I think it's crucial that we have a very good run in the Europa League and we secure a Top 6 place this season as real tangible evidence of progress. As long we can convince our players that we're progressing, then it makes it (slightly) easier to keep them here. In addition, his ability can be replaced. His work rate and ethic can be replaced. But Suarez is special in that he combines the two - it's quite rare to see that. Can we find a player who possesses both? Will be difficult especially as we're not the same club anymore who can attract the best.
I'm as certain as I can be that he's going nowhere this summer, apart from a nice holiday with his wife and kid
Suarez has a ridiculous talent. Loathsome or misunderstood will forever be up for debate, but his ability is not. I do not see why a mid-table side would keep hold of such a player, it would rely on the player having little interest in money, trophies and being completely in love with the place. It's not impossible, but being a skeptic created by years of the profiteering premier league rabble, I can't really get on board with that idea. If he likes it in England so much, he could go to Man City. Manchester's not far away, and they have the resources. I think he'd fit better with Real Madrid, I don't really see him working too well in the Barca set-up, but who knows. Of course, I think it would be lovely if he stayed at Liverpool (especially if there wasn't a major investment in playing staff or significant upturn in league position), and would certainly restore some of my faith in humanity! He'd certainly have my respect. It's not entirely implausible that Liverpool get back to being a top 4 club, or better, in years to come, but the new financial regime seems a little bit limited for rapid progression. It would be nice if they could get back to playing the sort of football that won them the Champions League and FA Cup in a style that thrilled the neutral, and there are brief glimpses of that, but usually against poor opposition.
he probably means that he hasn't heard anything, and if there was a doubt his mate would have told him by now.
It's an amalgam really. My mate says he is genuinely happy at the club and in the city. He'll want to see progress, but he'll give us another season to see if that materialises in a clear way.
