I'm not convinced by the article, that bloke is on happy pills, I still have seen no sign of solving our defensive frailty from either the rumours of players we have gone in for, let alone from the youngsters coming through to fill center back roles. If Kalas is retained then it might be a bit of relief, but it won't be the full answer to our achilles heel.
SBMcB, the context is one of patience, we will have what is needed as we continue with the trend under the management of SJ. I believe anyway .
One of the latest gossip articles is that Leo Slutsky the Hull manager is having talks with Chelsea over a loan deal, possibly Kalas ? ,an earlier article stated that Fulham could not match the loan asking price Chelsea wanted. Still no sign of a GK or CF
We've (allegedly) made an enquiry about bringing in Danny Ings on loan - remember him? Currently with Liverpool.
I'd rather sign someone permanently than have yet another loan, but Ings would be a potentially great signing (injury dependent, of course).
Just catching up having been away for a week, reports all over Twitter that the Kalas deal is done, he's coming back on loan and when Chelsea return from there Asia tour this week it will be announced. Still very concerned we haven't brought in a striker, a few rumours this week on Twitter regarding Ings, Cyle Larin and Aboubakar Kamara but all just whispers nothing concrete
The Club have confirmed Tomas Kalas is back with us, fantastic news. http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2017/july/27/kalas-returns
Some good news at last, but as I've said before defence still needs improving, I wouldn't want to go into the season with the same defence as last season. You have to wonder what goes on behind the scenes in a loan like this, why couldn't it be concluded sooner ?
Whoop, Whoop ! That's a result, eh what, rosc ? The big plus also is that he's been training, playing games and can fit straight back into the team with his mate Tim Ream.
Yes, yes, yes! Providing his injuries haven't had a lasting legacy, this would be utterly fantastic. And while I'm not a big fan of getting lots of loans in, where there is a question mark like that hanging over a player it seems like a sensible route to go. I saw some of his early games for Bournemouth as an 18 year old (him as the 18 year old, not me!) and I said at the time that he could be really good. I think it's only injuries that have stopped him fulfilling that early potential.
"52.4.1 A maximum of 5 Players registered on a Temporary Loan Transfer can be named in the Players listed on a team sheet for any individual match played under the auspices of The League." Might need to actually sign some players now, rather than just loan them...
Wonderful news re Kalas, glad the Hull rumour i posted was only a rumour. Must agree with Cookie C/F must now be our priority ( and G/K ).
Chelsea don't allow players in the last year of their contract to go out on loan, which Kalas was. They need to sign a new contract before going out on loan. No sooner had it been announced that Kalas had signed a new 4 year contract with Chelsea, he was also announced as a Fulham player for the season.
Kalas back is great news. I'm not so worried about the GK position but key is getting a striker. Can't wait for the season to start !!
Does anyone know much about him? Wikipedia has a very sparse entry saying he's 22, 5'10" and plays for Amiens in the French 2nd tier. 15 goals in 45 games last season. I'm not sure what to make of that - he's very unproven at our level, but he's also the right age for someone about to take great strides forward.
Surfing all the reports it is rumoured to be 3-5 million euros, he scored 15 goals in 29 league games last year as Amiens got promoted! He is described as pacy and strong but a bit raw, at 22 he looks like a decent signing but wouldn't be surprised if we did bring in another. It's unlikely but would love to just trigger Enrich's release clause again.
With you on Enrich, Cookie. Although would be happy with Ings so long, as the Captain said, he can stay fit. From what you say, Kamara looks more than half decent, and at 5' 10" taller than the average Fulham forward! With the season just a week away, guess a plus is also that being a French national there shouldn't be any work permit problems.
