Currently Salisu is still not in the match 18, so atm isn't getting in the side over a form Vestergaard., I would imagine by the end of the year, Salisu and Diallo will both be in the starting 11.
I never said it wasn't mate! I think currently we have 4 good CBs, Bednarek being our best., Probably being sold next year too. But as it stands Salisu is a unknown in the premier league, so for now caution is fair! He could come in and be a monster, nd go straite to 1st choice, I'm hopeful he'll do alright tho.
Our 4 CB options look good until the next time that they don’t - over the last 12 months 3 of them have looked bad then good, then bad then good.. One of them we don’t know yet
Solid window for incomings, good window for outgoings. Aside from maybe a few loans out for some younger players, it leaves us with just Forster really who is one of our highest earners for doing bugger all. But, at this stage, I’d rather him as no.2 than Gunn. If players can stay fit then we should be able to have another comfortable-ish mid-table finish, but with the outgoings and potential takeover, we are now set up nicely for a good window next summer. That’s important.
Got to say I'm very impressed with Arsenal's transfer dealings. Partey is exactly what they need, Willian is a very good player, Gabriel looks like a very good CB in the making and they've signed Aubameyang to a new deal. I can definitely see them returning to the top 4.
Feel the same as most here about the window. Bought in some good players who I think will improve the first team once they settle though squad may still be a little light in certain areas if we pick up an injury or two. Here's a useful roundup of the best players still available. Some real quality on this list https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/fo...s-premier-league-clubs-can-sign-a4563901.html
Think we’ve done well and should give us a top half finish. Arsenal Everton and Leeds are, for me, the dark horses who could do a lot better than their recent form suggests. If we finish above at least two if them, I’ll be well pleased
Nothing wrong with his work rate from what I've seen when he's been on the pitch. Just didn't work out.
Not sure where to put this but here feels most suited given it is related to player ins and outs. Interesting line from The Athletic's latest piece on Walcott's return, indicating that Alien Lucy might not be a dead parrot as far as Saints are concerned after all. "Had Mohamed Elyounoussi’s second successive season loan to Celtic not been agreed so early in the summer, The Athletic is led to believe there wouldn’t have been a desire to go shopping for another attacking midfielder. Sources at Southampton believe Norway international Elyounoussi is capable of making his mark in the Premier League, also adding their belief a player who cost the club £16 million two years ago will prove to be a good signing. But Celtic wanted an answer in June, which didn’t give the St Mary’s top brass much time to think it through as they were in the midst of tackling the challenges of Project Restart. With this in mind, there’s a chance Elyounoussi will be given a shot to impress Hasenhuttl next summer."
Ezequiel Garay is a free agent. No sure what the rules are for signing free agents,. If you can sign them outside the transfer window.
