Wolves have signed Portuguese right-back Nelson Semedo from Barcelona in a £37m deal. Manager Nuno Espirito Santo had been seeking a replacement for Matt Doherty, who moved to Premier League rivals Tottenham last month. "It isn't often that we have the opportunity to sign a world-class player from a world-class club," said Wolves executive chairman Jeff Shi. Semedo, 26, has played 124 times for Barca and won 13 Portugal caps. The defender, who has signed a contract until 2023, is the third permanent signing by Wolves during this transfer window, following the arrival of Fabio Silva from Porto and Ki-Jana Hoever from Liverpool.
Big fee. Following on from another big fee for that teenager from Porto. It’s worked out well for them so far but Mendez really has his claws in at wolves. Can only see it ending badly
I have no idea how reliable football insider is, but they've said we have opened talks to sign Robbie Gotts on loan from Leeds. With Smallwood's injury, it's probably been pushed forward to get him in before the deadline on Friday. https://www.footballinsider247.com/...eds-united-ace-who-can-play-defence-midfield/
£15m cheap for a player like him these days I think? Although I’ve absolutely no idea how well he’s done since being with us. I remember seeing him properly tearing it up on MOTD just like he did for us the only time I watched a bit of it last season and that was it.
It does seem pretty cheap for an attacking player. Especially some of the prices average Championship players seem to go for.
Irrelevant under financial fair play.... Its about how much the club turns over, not the owner/s worth. Remember Papa Allam suggesting the name change would generate about £1m more a year in club turnover? I checked Wolves incomings and outgoings.... Net investment is £2-3m only.....
Strange rustling sensation at the bottom of my legs. Just checked and realised that, on reading this, I've had my socks blown on.
6'3" attacking player.... Is he a Wilks cover, wide and up front? Is this signing the end of Eaves and Magennis as first choice?
