Time to start another transfer (Freebie?) thread for the upcoming window. First off the blocks is a possible freebie left back who's been linked - ex Wurzel Joe Bryan out of contract at Fulham. If Jamilu is back up and running for the new season, maybe our priorities lie elswhere but we don't need another season of makeshift left backs - O'Dowda is far better used further up the pitch and Ralls is not ideal. Bagan seems to have been marginalised so Bryan is an option and more to the point he's out of contract so signable in our present situation.
Good call OS to start this. If Collins is though fit and he was a huge loss this season for us, and as much as I rate Bryan who’d be first choice?
Beat me to it Sparks. I see Colin has recommended 2 Huddersfield players who will be out of contract. Josh Konoma - striker/winger. Age 24 so the right age. Career record of 1 goal every 6 games, not prolific but could be useful on a free to complement Robinson, Etete and Isaak (if he stays). I don't see us keeping Teflon but hope we can find a way to keep Kaba who has developed a good partnership with Etete. With Robinson in a no. 10 role we could see a lot more life up front. Josh Ruffells - age 29, left back or wing back. Taking into the above comments about Collins, possibly Bryan and Bagan possibly not needed if Ryan arrives.
Tom Coleman has trawled the net to find some out of contract including as OS noted Joe Bryan (also interesting Bristol & swansea). There’ll be a lot more of this to come NQAT. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/free-agents-cardiff-city-could-26831621
What about Jake Livermore? Leaving West Brom but very influencial in midfield - could do a serious job for us and he's another signable freebie.
Here's the article. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...kCopy&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar He would also like to sign Kipre, Kaba and Phil O'Gene but those are tied up with their clubs and we have umbongo limitations. Reading between the lines Teflon Wickham is unlikely to stay. I'm surprised he wants Harris to stay unless there is a plan to teach him how to score goals.
Yes agree but presumably he wants to keep onto players due to the embargo. Which makes it so vital the club addresses it asap. It covers both next seasons windows. Trying to stay in this division with freebies and loanees is flirting with danger.
So are we saying our club is going through its midlife crisis? We've been in a rock steady relationship with the Championship for years, with just the odd fling with something a little "classier and upmarket" but are now so bored of our long term situation that we're flirting with something a little less middle class... With a view to sampling the "working class/valleys girl" type of relationship???
Or a quick bunk up in chip alley in the early hours while munching a kebab. Posh or rough and ready. They all frequent chip alley.
What the fug am I reading here….dirty talk? My catholic ears were never intended for filth of this nature!
Most of the non parachute payment teams will be working to this model. I guess being bottom of the pile doesn’t help, but next season’s a clean slate, who knows?
Gavin Whyte confirms he is leaving. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...kCopy&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebar Not quite up to Championship level but good in Div. 1. Good luck to him.
