Kyle Naughton has signed a new contract that will see him bring up a decade at Swansea City.

The defender, 35, has put pen to paper on a new one-year deal through to the end of June 2025, having first joined the Swans from Tottenham in January 2015.

Since then Naughton has racked up over 300 appearances for the club, and was in a fine vein of form before a hamstring injury suffered against Cardiff City brought his 2023-24 season to a premature conclusion.

A product of the Sheffield United academy, Naughton signed for the Swans from Spurs and he went on to help the club to a best Premier League finish of eighth over the final months of the 2014-15 campaign.

The former England Under-21 international had spells with the Blades, Gretna, Middlesbrough, Leicester and Norwich before making his switch to Spurs.

He spent five-and-a-half years at White Hart Lane where he and Kyle Walker were identified as exciting emerging talents at full-back.

In fairness, he has been an excellent pro for the Club and has never kicked up a fuss about anything, unlike others we could all mention <ok>

His experience could / should come in handy next season.

Williams must have sanctioned this decision to make an offer of a contract extension.

I think he’s a top player. Great to see him sign a new deal. When he came into the starting line up this season though he stabilised the back four. If he hadn’t picked up an injury he would have played every week.

He has been an excellent signing for the Swans and I think Williams is a big fan of his. I think we will see a number of changes at the start of next season and Kyle's experience will be a big asset.

Swansea City midfielder Joe Allen has agreed a new contract to extend his time with the club through to the end of June 2025.

The former Wales international, 34, will pen a one-year deal, with his previous contract due to expire this summer.

His agreement follows on from Kyle Naughto committing his future to Swansea City for another season.

Allen, who rejoined the Swans in 2022 after a decade away from his boyhood club, produced an excellent run of form following Luke Williams’ appointment as head coach in January 2024.

During that time, Allen passed 200 appearances in Swansea colours, and was an influential figure in wins over the likes of Sunderland and Cardiff City before a foot injury ended his season.

“I love talking about Joe," Swans boss Williams said during the closing stages of last season.

"He is incredible and a true Jack. His play is so smooth, and he reads the game so well and is another player that has sacrificed everything he has for the team.

“I am very lucky I get the chance to work with him.”

Having first joined the club at the age of 10, Allen progressed through the Swansea pathway to reach the first team, making his league debut against Blackpool on the final day of the 2006-07 season.

He went on to help the club secure promotion to the Premier League and establish themselves in the top-flight before making a move to Liverpool in 2012.

Allen would go on to make 132 appearances for the Anfield club, scoring seven goals.

He joined Stoke City following his outstanding performances for Wales at Euro 2016, which saw him named in the Uefa team of the tournament.

He spent six seasons with the Potters, during which he took on the club captaincy, making 221 appearances and scoring 20 goals.

Allen won 74 caps for Wales across a 13-year international career, helping the Dragons reach three major finals and scoring two goals.

Following the news that Kyle Naughton and Joe Allen have both signed for a further 12 months, Swans Chairman Andy Coleman has scotched suggestions that Saga Holidays are to be the front of shirt sponsors for the 2024/25 season …..:grin::grin:

Are they completely mad? All Wayne Rooney's managerial appointments have been a disaster.

It's the managerial merry-go-round. The same old bang average at best managers are never out of work. It defies logic.
