I find it a bit confusing to be honest. The Forest owners have spent a fortune to keep them in the top flight and they will get punished for it if super rich people want to spend their money let them.
was an absolute liability at the back stick and cost us a fair few goals, decentish squad player though.
He’s just started playing professionally at championship level in a young squad and he was coming off injuries. He did well
I don't see why there needs to be an excuse. We had a **** game. It happens. Surely there was never an expectation that we'd not have **** games some of the time. On the whole we were decent and finished 7th, 3 points off the playoffs.
The problem is they don’t spend their money, they spend the clubs money, and money it doesn’t have, then ride off Scot-free into the sunset once it all goes Pete Tong, leaving the club and the fans facing financial doom and left to sort out the mess.
But it wasn't just one **** game - we only got 16 points out of last 39 and ultimately that's what got Rosie the old heave ho - we should gave been well in the play offs and no matter how often people try and defend the indefensible it doesn't make it any better - we messed up big time / Rosie messed up big time
Defenders need to be able to defend I'm afraid He just isn't good at his day job. Someone playing left back needs to be able to defend. He struggled at times. Granted if we played wing backs then he's be an asset but I don't think he works in a flat back 4
Seeing the piece on the HDM about the squad, and cannot believe it is so light. I know we should be used to it, but I fear we have just gone about it the wrong way with these loan players. No strikers is the stand out and the depth is really poor too. Maybe that's modern day football in the second division, but I look at Coventry and they do this the right way by selling someone, investing in two etc
Another random name from Chief Scout of Not606 Kalman as a potential Greaves replacement is José Córdoba. Another left-footed centre-half that can play left-back. Don’t know much about him other than Rangers and Norwich are interested. Currently plays for Bulgarian club Levski Sofia; the same club Andrian Kraev, a defensive mid who is out-of-contract this summer and we were previously linked with.
no I agree he’s a decent enough squad player but I’d like a top operator at this level on both sides, not Regan Slater and Matty Jacob.
I mean this respectfully but I think you’re forgetting a few things. One is the level we are at. Yes it’s great if you can get 11 players of Jaden or Greaves’ caliber for the respective position but in reality you’re going to have to make do with the Slaters and Coyle’s of the world. They’ll be inconsistent but put in a shift when you need them. The other is players can develop. Referencing greaves. He was a good player with some inconsistencies last year and now he’s being touted to top clubs. In 2 years time I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s on the peripheral of England squad. Matty jacob is a player that’s had a rough go of it with injuries and has played 14 games in the championship. Of course he’s going to be rough round the edges. To pigeon hole him as just a squad player doesn’t take into account he can hopefully improve. Let’s no write off a youth product. He will play valuable minutes next year I bet
We appreciate it mate you know a lot more than I do when it comes to these players who are realistic targets keep it coming.
I agree that people seek simple narratives and that we were ****e. But, that was a big game and how a manager gets his team to perform in the big games is, in my opinion, a valid measure of his ability (one of many). This measure is one that the great managers manage to meet. If we had taken an early lead at Plymouth, who knows, that could have seriously unsettled WBA.
That's what I was saying around the start of this month when Rosenior was BS'ing about "building on the great foundation .blah blah". Usual suspects weren't having it! The lightness of the squad and the scale of the rebuild is alarming. ps I'm not saying it's all down to him
In fairness some parallels to the Barnsley away under Bruce. Having said that I was far more pissed off with the **** show at Plymouth.
