If anything it's numbers we need, if we pick up any more injuries or suspensions in midfield things could get tricky
Me neither but with the reasonably long lay off for Ndidi and Casedi going, we're light in midfield. It's very much fingers crossed for no further injuries.
Wonder if our dithering was accidentally on purpose following Yunus' rather remarkable recent transformation
Funnily enough, I'd already suggested we go for him before we played Blackburn ... see the "Recruiting for the Prem" thread ... Given FFP sanctions etc and that we can't compete with the Big 6 (and a few others) for 'ready made' players from abroad anyway, he's the type of player we have to aim for - bags of potential both in playing terms and re sell on ...
I was going more for the name pronunciation compared to a sneeze joke which I thought was right up your street tbh.
I don't understand how a deal like that would be financially possible under the circumstances. Have we sold Iheanacho and Daka for £75 million apiece to some Saudi team?
Doesn't this just sum up the absurdity of the Premier League rules? Despite qualifying for the Champions League Aston Villa will have to sell at least one player for a significant fee this summer to comply with Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules. (Sun) You assemble a squad to challenge the big clubs and when you succeed you have to start dismantling it.
Hate this period where we are having to read gossip about every man and his dog while we wait for the transfer window to open. Think I read June 6 is a big day for us where either our embargo comes off or the window opens. All those out of contract will then be off unless already signed extensions.
Will be a very interesting summer window for sure... surely Souttar will force a move away, poor lad ... never got a look in...
Being linked with quite a few free transfers - presumably because we aren't going to be allowed to sign anyone for money! Latest is Burkina Faso striker Mohamed Konate who will be out of contract with Russian Premier league side Akhmat Grozny this summer...
He's very much a household name ..... particularly in Grozny and Burkina Faso. The last thing we want is to be spending wages on every unattached Tom, Dick and Mohamed. Maybe I'm doing him a dis-service, but we have enough misfits already that we are trying to move on.
How many had heard of Mavididi, Hermansen or Fatawu before this season? Whoever was in charge of bringing them to the club can be trusted to do well in a market where we look for bargains.
